Your G-Day broadcast crew

No Herbstreit (which I assume means he’ll be in Tuscaloosa).

Man, I like Blackledge.  Sure is gonna be awkward hearing him try to make the case for a quarterback controversy.

What about Danielson? He wasn’t available?

I’m glad you like Blackledge. He is a good broadcaster.

But I’ll never forgive him for this:

Like Blackledge? You do remember the 1983 Sugar Bowl right?

  4. I couldn’t stand him as a kid. Early in that game when they were doing the player intros (remember when they did that?)he made a comment something to the effect of this is the offense that’s going to go down and score the first drive or win or something to that effect. Keith Jackson said something like he hopes or he thinks or we’ll see. Damn now I have to go find that game on youtube to see how good my memory is. After the game when they were showing the Penn locker room there was also some smirked remarks as well but yeah he’s actually one of my favorite broadcasters now.

Besides his professed ignorance of young female pop singers there was that game where the schematic genius and Brady Quinn were playing Tech at night at the joke by coke, remember? The Nats had Calvin and the former quarter back in him just couldn’t stay neutral. He was openly annoyed at the play calling and referring to Calvin and how they weren’t utilizing the best player on the filed and finally said get…him…the…ball. He also was very vocal in calling out the BS and saying Joe PA needed to go once the Sandusky revelations came to light. Like I said, I like him but if you can’t think of anything nice to say about him I’ll go that at least he’s not Herbie.

I don’t think Blackledge will play that game, at least not because ESPN tells him he must. But I do think he will echo KS and say both will compete for the job. And they will, just like Eason and Fromm did last year. It isn’t controversial, it is damned comfortable for UGA fans…just like it was last season. And for the reason we saw last year, both should be prepared to play and get snaps in every game they can. I think the use of the controversy ploy is for the kids, adults don’t fall for that, do they?

Todd and Maria are solid on TV. Can’t think who Wischusen is, though. Maria knows her stuff, but I bet they stick her on the field for the human interest stuff.

Wischusen has a good voice for commentary. Higher pitched, almost like a tennis announcer named Brett Haber. Sometimes I think they are the same person.
