With an attitude like that, he can probably miss the next three or four NCAA tourneys and still avoid the hot seat. And when that wears thin (“hey, there are plenty of coaches out there who won’t recruit kneeling players, when’s he gonna win?”), he can start carrying on the sideline to bolster fan support for a few more.
Really, it’s kind of brilliant when you think about it.

Davis placed an emphasis on the national anthem at Middle Tennessee State.
“The pride he took every time we got a letter from an opposing fan because our guys stand at attention during the national anthem and they all hold their hand over their heart. That’s a very big thing with Coach Davis,” MTSU athletic director Chris Massaro, told the Clarion Ledger Friday. “Typically, when we go from arena to arena a fan would notice that and they would send either him or me a note, a letter or email. We took great pride in that. That’s kind of one of the things I’ll always remember him by … how much pride he took into that.
“It’s a small thing in some ways but it’s a huge thing to a lot of people, to him and to our program. That’s one of the things we’ll see as we continue forward. That’s going to be one of the legacies he’ll leave.”
Davis’ statement drew a sizeable cheer from those in attendance Monday at The Pavilion.
Sizeable cheer from fans? Mission accomplished! Although I wait to see how his policy meshes with this:
Per an athletic department administrator, Ole Miss student-athletes, in all sports, have been “educated about the importance of freedom of expression, and that won’t change.”
Something’s gotta give. Hopefully that won’t be the Constitution.

Muricans come in all colors, being black doesn’t mean you have to act like an idiot. This country has no chance of staying united, to any degree, if some feel it needs to be torn down to make them feel better about themselves. In fact, it has done more to hurt their misguided cause than do anything constructive.
The whole divisive BLM movement is not only racist, it is destructive, and counter to the entire concept of lifting people of all backgrounds to find hope of a successful future together in this country. If your intent is to tear down this society, then supporting it, and disrespecting this country, is your thing, excuse those of us who find you, and those who kneel, disgusting. Good for this coach. I hope he continues this stance and sends those who feel this is an appropriate place for his personal protest to the locker room.

But beyond that – kneeling is not a sign of disrespect anyway. If it was, Christians would be guilty of disrespecting God every time they knelt to pray.
People upset by that are not angry about disrespect, they’re angry that those kneeling are calling attention to an issue they would rather ignore.

Kneeling is not disrespectful, except of course in situations when the long practiced custom is to show respect by standing. Don’t let that get in the way of your logic though.

I would have preferred a raised fist myself. I have no issue with protesting or expression, but kneeling looks like “opting out.” I thought Jim Brown said it best:
“I want to be in his corner, and I do think, ‘God bless him,’ ” Brown said. “I’m going to give you the real deal: I’m an American. I don’t desecrate my flag and my national anthem. I’m not gonna do anything against the flag and national anthem. I’m going to work within those situations. But this is my country, and I’ll work out the problems, but I’ll do it in an intelligent manner.”

Actually, you couldn’t be more wrong. The bible actually tells us to kneel, Psalms 95:6 says “Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!”. There other examples if you took the time to look them up. But by your post, you said every time “they” knelt, tells me you are not a Christian and are making assumptions.
I don’t ever recall it being written anywhere about kneeling for the anthem.

FYI – there’s no command in the bible to kneel when you pray. So the Bible doesn’t “tell you” to kneel at all. Even in the verse you quoted it’s context could at best be described as a suggestion. But this is completely beside the point, which you unsurprisingly couldn’t grasp.

It would seem that you aren’t smart enough to even see the answer when it is right before you. I never said that there was a command to kneel. There are numerous examples in Exodus, Job, and Chronicles of people praying with just their heads bowed, while dancing, and while laying on the ground.
However, my original response was to your post that implied Christians would be disrepecting God when they kneel to prayed just because they thought it was disrespectful for Kaperdick when he did it during the anthem. My example above blows that stupid post out of the water because the bible gives examples of kneeling to pray to, and worship, God.
In response to my disproving your humorous, yet sad attempt, to detract from Kaperdick’s disrespect, you decide to try and imply that I’m not smart enough to follow your weak innuendos. Again, humorous but sad.

I must apologize for not explaining at a lower level. It never says in the bible that you have to kneel to pray. There are examples in Exodus, Job, and Chronicles (just to name a few) where people pray to God while kneeling, standing, and evening laying prone. So to answer your idiotic question, no. People who do jot kneel to pray are not disrespecting God.
But people who refuse to stand for the playing of our national anthem are disrespectful.

The kneeling before God is an established ritual dating all the way to the beginning of time. There are multiple examples in exodus.
On the other hand, the kneeling during the anthem, or before the flag, is not. As you stated above, Kaperdick only did it to draw attention to himself and away from the ritual. Therefore, disrespectful.
