“And Georgia fans, don’t be turds. Enjoy this. Soak it up. It’s awesome. If you don’t win this year, it’s still not a failure. It’s a heck of a run. Back-to-back in the Playoff era hasn’t been done. So, to ask for a third I feel like it’s gluttonous. I feel like it’s not OK. But we’ll be in the mix.”-- David Pollack, On3.com, 5/9/23
Let’s see if he’s at summer practice at Jacksonville State. That’s where Saban’s medical DQ’s we’re ending up.

“You’re hurt aren’t you, son?” “No coach, I’m fine.” “No you’re hurt, believe me you’re hurt.”

If it turns out he’s not legitimately hurt and has merely been “processed”, then I’ll think it stinks and will be ashamed of that aspect of the program.

Derek along to proclaim Saban a douchebag in 5, 4, 3…. lol. No, he’s not.
My mother blew out a knee at age 40 and had to retire from competitive tennis. She still kicked ass at the Jax State level of the senior tour, but her regional tournament days were done.
A kid who can’t compete at an SEC level anymore because of injury has a choice to finish his education at Georgia and still spend time with his teammates, without losing his scholarship – or go plat somewhere else if Saturdays are still that important to him.
None of this would be an issue if the NCAA weren’t more interested in containing costs for Iowa State than letting top programs like Georgia meet the full demand for spots on its football team.

That is the sound of dead wood being trimmed. We wanted to challenge for championships; this is how the game is played. Best of luck to this young man.

If the school offers a scholly to a kid who turns out not to be this enough, that’s on the school. It’s called consequences for your decisions. People are supposed to have to accept them not shirk them.

I’m really hoping this is not Saban style processing and is actually legitimate.

I’ve met Sam a couple of times. He’s a really nice and respectful young man. Tough break for him after all his effort.

We’ve lost Divaad Wilson for the year. Does he go off as medical, keep his scholly and counts it towards the cap?
After all their work, both these gentlemen deserve better. What was the medical question for Madden? If it’s concussion, then that would attenuate the enthusiasm for Scout Team, I would think. Scout Team may be getting their ass pounded by the superior starters with no promise of ever playing so what does this do for practicing up for big games?

Divaad Wilson is a bit different, considering he tore an ACL. He’ll take a medical redshirt and of course will count towards the cap. Not exactly an example of someone getting processed.

That’s actually the third offensive lineman from them same class to take a medical, according to Dawg Nation. That seems like a lot from a non skill position group to me. It shouldn’t come as a surprise, given Kirby’s past experience with how to trim oversigning down to 85. I can’t say I’m fond of the practice but I’m even less fond of being able to award 6 or 7 walk-on’s scholarships in the fall either. You simply can’t compete with the top programs doing that.
