Spring practice round up

From the bottom of the tea cup to you…

  • Interesting Kirby Smart quote about Jacob Eason:  “We just had a guy leave here with the strongest arm I’ve ever seen,” Smart said this week on SiriusXM radio. “When you’re comparing arm strength, a lot more to me matters in decision-making, process, can you get people lined up? Can you get everybody to do it right? Are you looking at the right places and reading the way the coaches are asking you to do. A lot of throwing the ball is anticipation moreso than just arm speed and arm talent.”
  • Mark Webb, getting a chance in the secondary.
  • Trey Hill, making a move?
  • Kirby Smart says he’s not using the loss in the national title game as motivation, but that may be because the players are doing that on their own.
  • Life on the defensive line is thin right now.

The last line of the Barnett article says it all- key is going to be staying healthy. We were very lucky last year with injuries, let’s hope it’s the same this year b

Not surprised by the comment on Eason. From the get-go Fromm ran the offense as if it was second nature. Kirby isn’t one of those coaches who falls in love with a QBs arm.

The odds we sign about 6 defensive linemen for the ’19 class are pretty good. Tray Scott is gonna be a busy man.

Agree, doubt Kirby knew for sure until he saw Fromm in the spot light, but the best QB ended up with the job, imo.

Tray Scott needs to be a successful man this recruiting season, he has some playing time to offer, can’t think of another UGA position coach that can say that. Would unravel a lot if he comes up short, those big bodies take a beating and the joints get tested. UGA needs quality depth on the defensive front ASAP, can’t afford to miss on the top guys.
