Is it just me, or does the SEC East preseason chatter seem a bit surreal?
I mean, I could have heard Pruitt say something like this…
“It’s like I tell my players, don’t farm somebody’s else land, just farm your land,” said first-year Tennessee coach Jeremy Pruitt. “I’m going to worry about my land, not worry about somebody else’s.”
… in Athens a few seasons ago. My how things change.
Didn’t realize Grantham had gone to Florida. Good news.

For Pruitt, I think he will find the top soil to be particularly rocky in Knoxville. Could be tough farming for a while.

Kirby flipped the script quickly….that’s for sure.

247-72 ? wow

I had the same thought. We beat east opponents by an average score of 41-12. Can that be right? Even if it’s off a little I’ll take it

That’s one thing Alabama can’t steal from us. I thoroughly, and I mean thoroughly enjoyed beating the hell out of the East. While I still hunger for a national title, nothing can diminish beating our Eastern rivals to a pulp–hopefully for years to come.

“Georgia… and went unbeaten against SEC East teams for the first time since divisional play started in 1992.”
That is what I thought was more impressive.

Derek Mason always seems to confront reality rather than make up horseshit, even when his quotes could imperil his job. Instead of Muschamp and Mullen, I think we should worry about Vandy getting it done if they ever get a high-ranking class. And, yes, Grantham following Mullen is good news.
It is nice being pursued for a change, but sure hope the D line and backfield realize that’s where the game hangs this year. My curiosity has been piqued as to how several D players were coached up during last season and how those guys just seemed to improve each game. Part of the reason was that they never quit until the final bell, but their talent was realized to be better and better during the season and I don’t have a good explanation of that, except coaching.

The parable of the farmer?! And here I was worried Pruitt might be a decent HC.

I love that Mullen quote about “we’ve been to the SEC title game 2 out of the last 3 years…” Who is “we?” Mullen hasn’t been anywhere except home the last nine years on championship Saturday.

We need to give these new coaches at UT and UF zero quarter and beat the daylights out of them. If we can have 1 more really big year and top it off with a #1-#2 recruiting class the avalanche will be insurmountable for those wearing the color orange.

Pruitt the Farmer will be trying to grow cotton on the side of the mountain where even grass won’t grow and begging the bank to give him another loan while Kirby the Farmer tends the fertile grounds of southwest Georgia growing tall, high cotton that will produce high yields.
