Raise you hand if you had LeBron vs. Nick Saban in the pool. I sure didn’t.

LeBron is full of shit here. You can’t copyright or trademark something like that.
Spike Lee should sue them both.

Yes, this is completely asinine, but people’s perception of trademark and copyright law is going off the rails…
Just like athletes filing trademark applications or claiming they came up with a particular phrase, 99% of it is simply about scaring others from monetizing it during a very brief window of time – anyone wanna guess how much all the stuff Johnny Manziel said he was trademarking when he was hot is worth now (if he was even granted or bothered to maintain the registrations)???

Why are athletes so much smarter than the rest of us?

Because of the higher education, room, and board many of them received in return for their athletic talents…Lebron being the exception, he’s naturally smart.

Why should I care what LeBron thinks about anything? He’s entitled to his opinions, and to express them, but why would anyone else care?

Admittedly, I haven’t watched either, but I fail to see how Nick Saban’s version would keep Lebron’s version from getting his message out.

I saw this on Sports Center this morning and think Saban is right on this one. Saban was right when he said there have been numerous shows done from barber shops. LeBron doesn’t “own” that and the fact he was acting so offended by it is ridiculous.

“I’ll be damned?” Lol. What a dick . Does he actually think his is the first show to highlight conversations in a barber shop? Stupid people with money makes for great comedy sometimes.

As others have said, Lebron’s barbershop deal is far from the first to have such a show. I believe there was a Fox show just a few years ago that was very similar to what Lebron is doing. Hell, perhaps the producers of that 80’s movie ‘Coming to America’ should sue everyone, as they were the first I recall featuring dedicated conversations in a barbershop.

That’s a hilarious analogy, 3rd. If memory serves, the love interest in that movie’s father was in a running copyright/trademark battle with McDonald’s.

I cringe when I watch Lebron say anything other than basketball talk. He sounds semi- retarded. Dude should just be thankful anyone actually takes what he says seriously.

It’s funny that the person who dragged their knuckles over the keyboard to crap out the first (totally incoherent) sentence above is criticizing LeBron’s intelligence? “Say anything other than basketball talk?” Keep it coming, Shakespeare.

One if the names listed above is not like the others in terms of actual contributions to society and credentials as a heed worthy commentator.
Is this a serious comment or is my sarcasm detector acting up again?
As for the seemingly incessant circling back to Trump in all posts, the comment sections of CNN, Fox News, and Yahoo are taylor made for such left field musings. Feel free to check it out.

This is one of those “eye of the beholder” claims, but it does look like whoever put together Saban’s show just copied what Lebron was doing. Not illegal under the circumstances, but it just looks lazy, especially for a program noted for focusing on every tiny detail. How hard would it have been to do a barber shop show that looked and felt completely different? Saban won’t change anything because he doesn’t have to and does not want to back down, but it will look lazy/sloppy/bad to a lot of people (recruits?).
