When reading over the descriptions of the Gators’ first spring scrimmage, something caught my eye. It probably caught your eye as well. Here’s one way Dan Mullen described the proceedings:
“Offense, there’s a lot of mistakes and you’re seeing three-and-out, three-and-out, three-and-out, 90-yard touchdown, three-and-out, three-and-out, 50-yard touchdown. That goes offensively and defensively, right there.”
If there’s nothing else you can say about Mr. Grantham, he’s certainly consistent.
Do I need to remind anyone about how well Georgia’s offense did on plays from scrimmage of twenty or more yards last season? I didn’t think so.
I worry a little about Mullen getting the resources of UF. So I can only hope Grantham stays there as long as possible.

In a perfect world, Todd Grantham would be the DC at GT.

Agreed, we will soon know how well he can coach. I was surprised that he didn’t try to get Diaz back as his DC given the resources UF has to offer.

Wow, that brings back some memories. I remember him as DC at MSU with that huge gut. He would literally blitz the entire D and hope he could get to the QB/RB before they could get going. I swear, his D would either have you at 3rd and 27…or hand you a 30+ yard gain as his DB’s desperately chased you down from behind.

It was fun to watch if you didn’t care who won the game.

Grantham should’ve learned by now he can’t ask college players to do some of the things he was calling for our players to do. The question I have is, will he be in G’ville long enough to matter?
