Vegas still ❤ the Dawgs.

This may explain some of the mentality Kirby is trying to adjust this spring.

Of course, that doesn’t mean we fans have to humble ourselves.

I love seeing short odds on the Dawgs but those Bama odds remind me of tiger woods in his prime. Just ridiculous. Taking the field vs. Bama probably has lower odds.

December 1st is gonna be epic.

Early look “value buys” from that list, to me, would be Washington, Texas, and Michigan State (with a consideration to both FSU and ND.) I pick them because there are better chances they get to the playoffs then your paying for (20/30/60 to 1) due to returning talent and/or schedule. If you get to a 2 game playoff, you have a reasonable chance to win it. Notre Dame always a better chance to be selected than their talent deserves just because they are Notre Dame.

Most over rated on that list, relevant to odds, might be Michigan, Auburn, and LSU. Of course, at this time of the year everyone can dream and make a case for celebrations to come. Teams at the top don’t return much considering how hard it is to be right. A bet on Bama doesn’t even double your money. Still, fun game to play in the off season, much better than arguing pre-season poll position. If you believe your team is getting screwed in the polls, you can put your money where your mouth is.

I expect Texas to have a similar year two bump to ours. Maybe not the playoffs, but should definitely be top 10. Herman got rid of a lot of dead wood last year.

Second game vs. USC will be where Texas shows if it is still spinning its tires or not. Herman seems like a good hire, but the hints of arrogance such as mocking Drew Lock in the bowl game have me hoping he actually turns out to be a dud.

Meh, probably not Herman’s finest moment, but Lock was doing that all game long. I thought it was funny. Lock is sort of like a less talented Mayfield. Not a fan of either.

Texas took USC to OT in the Coliseum last season. They shouldn’t fear them this year, so yeah, that game will tell a lot.

Would add FSU to that group also, have some talent but Willie Taggart coaching?

Agree, that is why I put them just outside my top group. Folks forget FSU was holding their own with Bama before Francois went down. I think Taggart is a better coach than Jimbo and there are athletes enough to win the ACC. Not predicting they will, but it would not be a major surprise to me. A win over media darling Clemson could vault them up the polls.
