@GTToddStansbury We have to do something about the noon games. They kill the game day experience. Hard for fans with kids to make it to the game and are hot as hell.

I understand your concerns. Please know that GT and the ACC don’t have any input when it comes to game times – they’re assigned by our TV partners. It’s impossible to make everyone happy when it comes to game times but we’re aware that early games are challenging for many fans. https://t.co/N3JVIiO6Eq

Andy Staples injects a note of reality.
This is an AD being diplomatic. But West Virginia QB Will Grier explained the only reliable solution to too many noon kickoffs in a story I wrote a few weeks ago: “We need to win more.” https://t.co/LfZNx8RrMZ

I expected a ton of noon starts last year. When the App game was announced at 5:30, I thought, “Hey, maybe someone is listening to fan complaints.” When the Samford game ended up at night, my reaction was, “Kirby is telling McGarity night games against cupcakes are better for recruiting. Get on it with the SEC.”
If I remember correctly, the only noon start was at historic MRF@VDS.

Exactly. Kirby’s 8-5 first season didn’t get us all those late kick offs last season. I imagine after years of not caring or not knowing any better adgm finally got the message from Kirby and others and called in some chips with the conference and the networks.

I imagine somebody went to Sankey and said, “Don’t you want the school with the biggest media market in the South on at night rather than noon?”

I agree with y’all on this. I never bought the networks are going to tell us when we kickoff no matter what, thing. It did seem we had more Noon starts than others and I believe there was a conversation about it. Yes, we’ll have noon kickoffs in the future (probably against Tech, lol) but it’s not going to be the majority of our home slate like in ’16.

HAHAHAHA! On the original tweet there, someone posted the only way to win with the Triple Option is to play at Noon! That’s as damn tech as it gets!

You open your season with Alcorn St and you didn’t think it’d be at noon?
