Kiss of death

Hey, I don’t want to rain on anybody’s parade about the Plumlee commitment.  Getting a four-star commitment at quarterback for the 2019 class in the face of two five-stars on the roster is a helluva feather in Kirby Smart’s cap, but when you’ve got Tom Luginbill taking a victory lap for you…

Continue reading to see why ESPN 300 prospect John Rhys Plumlee is exactly what the Bulldogs need at QB in this class…  [Emphasis added.]

… well, let’s just say that could take a little bloom off the rose for me.

(I keed, I keed — I think.)

The Plumlee (Mississippi) and Truss (Rhode Island) commitments over the weekend shows the extent to which Kirby & Co. are scouring the nation for talent. Since neither appears to be a top 15 recruit at their position I imagine the staff sees some special qualities in these players. It’s unlikely we’ll see either player in a real game until a year or so into next the decade.

Truss may not have a high rating by evaluations I have read indicate he has raw talent and badly needs a guy like Pittman to help him reach his potential/goals. More than likely the advice he got from got from someone close, Wilson may be a good one to follow on that front as they looked to be 2nd, or 3rd year players as recruits.

Alright so yesterday I was bored and took a look at this kids film. I
know, I know its HS and all but he looks like a very quick, tough smart kid with a good arm. His junior highlights went on forever. Considering what we already have sitting in the QB room this is a nice addition.

The kid is holding some pretty impressive offers.

Amazing he doesn’t hold more offers, really. he looks like an absolute perfect fit for a team like GT, the academies, Ga.Southern, etc to run the option. I’ve seldom been as impressed with HS film…but he was playing for an offense that looks very well coached. Those kids picked up blocks, opened holes and blocked downfield like gangbusters.. I’m very pleased he was/is wise enough to make the right choice of schools.

    Plumlee looks pretty damn good…

I wish they made lo-light films, especially for quarterbacks… like, yeah that was a sweet throw for a TD… but he forgot the snap count on the play before and turned the wrong way on the hand-off the play before that… and on the next drive, he threw THIS ball…
