Today, in it just means more, Urnge edition

In three short years, Lane Kiffin went from being someone who was advised by security to wear a bulletproof vest on his first trip back to Knoxville as Alabama’s offensive coordinator to becoming the choice of many Tennessee fans to succeed Booch as the head coach there.

Only in America, my friends.  Or Knoxville, anyway.

For years in my family I had to endure relentless songs of praise of the ugliest color in the rainbow from my brother. I got so much joy out of Lane’s departure and the near delusional and desperate state Vol nation ended up in. I’m still enjoying the victory from last year. I believe it caused my brother post-traumatic amnesia. He can’t seem to bring himself to speak about it.

Do you want them to be the Auburn of the East ’cause I sure don’t.

      • optically and ethically speaking they would be as bad as Auburn (may be already are) but it would be rich,an archaic word for funny, and when he left for UCLA( fill-in school of your choice) they could rehire Dooley….a fella can hope. I love laughing at my rivals almost as much as beating them..

Dawgs would like him back for a revenge match. It still hurts to remember when he beat us in his first year. I’d just love to see him back to receive proper updating to this series and let him have proper respect for SEC teams. Can’t anyone get FAU on our schedule before he blows back west?

Btw, where is his brother-in-law that he left among outraged fans and burning couches? That’s the guy Kiffen has to wear a bullet-proof vest for in their next get-together.

The Laner will be back coaching P5 in the next few years. Probably 2019. the guy is seriously flawed and seriously talented. I do not see him back at UT although that would be hilarious. Especially if he bolted like a year later for some other program like LSU or Miami. God that would be fun!

I don’t see him in the SEC either although I could definitely see him at an FSU or Miami if/when those jobs open up.

I like it as a story, because it demonstrates for me just how freakin’ crazy desperation will make a fan base that starts out a little unbalanced from the git-go.
