Alex, I’ll take scheduling quirks for $200.

For some unexplained reason, Liberty and New Mexico State play each other twice in the regular season.  At least they go home-and-home.

Anybody know who pushed for that?

The schools had to do this because Austin Peay was already taken.

They each needed another cupcake on their respective schedules that season. 😊

Haven’t seen that kind of thing since the early 1900s.

NMSU is a FBS independent these days, having been kicked out of the Sun Belt. Liberty is moving up to FBS and is also an independent. Both were having trouble filling their schedule.

At least they are not filling their schedules with FCS cupcakes…

A rose by any other name… when you get kicked out of a conference and when you can’t get in one… you may not belong in FBS.

I hate that we don’t have an FBS team named the Vandals anymore. One of my all-time favorite nicknames.
