Another “it just means more” season coming up

Mississippi beat writer Hugh Kellenberger compiles his list of the top ten (technically, eleven, since there’s one tie) SEC games this season here.  I think it’s motivated as much by entertainment value as it is by matchup quality — for Exhibit A on that, he’s got Alabama-Tennessee at number two — so it’s not a bad place to start, although I think Georgia-Auburn is a pretty glaring omission.

What do you guys think?

  1. Read this yesterday. He’s basically saying that there is such a gap between UGA and their competition that good games will be few and far between. Auburn is Auburn – so it should be a good game; but personally I think Auburn is over-rated this year. We’ll see… At least they are playing a good football team right out of the gate. Give them credit…

Thought they were overrated last two years, but that was before the first game we played against them last year. As much as it hurts, I have to give them their due this year.

  2. Georgia vs. Austin Peay isn’t on the list? Is this some kind of joke? Danny Kanell is probably going to pick the Peay since they scored 30+ on the real national champions and our season was a fluke.

Is it just me or does the word “rival” get thrown around a lot? Are Miss St and UF really rivals as that article says?

On a separate note, Miami is getting a lot of respect despite their issues. Seems like everyone’s looking for LSU to lose in that opener.

Leaving UGA-Aub off the list is an omission that renders the authors credibility irrelevant.

Very SEC-West-centric with a heavy Magnolia State tilt.

GA-Auburn should be on the list at #2. Bama-UT is going to be a walkover and means nothing. The Georgia game against Auburn will mean that with a victory UGA wins the SEC East.

Probably got the Bama-Tenn game ranked right for the Bama fans. I am sure there may be nothing better they would like than going to Knoxville & and beating the shat out of Pruitt & those hillbillies…..unless it is payback to Auburn.

Also think the Georgia/Florida game will be much better (closer) than last year. Georgia/LSU is another that was left off …Georgia/Auburn is a no-brainer. Too many Mississippi schools on that list.
