It’s fun to use that line on Millenials and watch their face scrunch up deciding if they will call you out for being an idiot with history…

Not half as fun as watching Boomers illustrate how little they know about Millenials by making poorly informed jokes. Myself and virtually every other Milenial I know would instantly recognize that quote in any context or setting. Sometimes you old people forget that elder Millenials are approaching 40 years old.

Almost filmed at the University of Georgia, if I recall correctly…

They went to lots of colleges trying to find one that would let them film. When the colleges read the script they said no. University of Oregon didn’t read the script and said yes so that is where it was filmed.

“Wait til Otis sees us! He loves us!”. When I was in my early twenties me and a bunch of my buddies watched Animal House at least once a week. I’m the same age as the movie so it was an older movie to me but I loved it and still do. They don’t make them like that anymore. I remember some time in my late twenties while I was in the military a bunch of younger guys were going on and on about some movie called Van Wilder. I asked what it was about. They told me and I just waved them off and said for them to go watch Animal House and get back to me.

I enjoy Van Wilder a lot, but it will never be Animal House.

liked how Otter had a small part as Van Wilder’s responsible dad. Nice little homage, or whatever.

Was a lad at UGA when this movie came out. What made it so funny and enduring was that a lot of the antics depicted really went on back in the day… hard to believe in this day and age,but they did. I want this movie played at my funeral.

A small correction to your post Senator. I don’t think you caught it the first time when I posted. It’s “Knowpledge ( No pledge ) is good”. Not Knowledge is good.

I stand corrected. Damn, I would’ve bet my left nut that it said knowpledge is good. I remember me and my buddies laughing about it. Where the hell did I get that from? I know that I just didn’t make it up. “Knowpledge” actually fits the movie and is pretty funny, right? Somebody help me, I’m losing my fucking mind.

Don’t be too hard on yourself, you were just stoned like nearly every other college student in America. Even my wife liked to “smoke some pot” back in the day.

Sigma Nu at UGA in the early/mid 70’s and I specifically remember watching this movie and saying several times ,”O wow I’ve done that”. Answered the house phone …Sigma Nu Zoo ,which animal for you? One brother did ride his motorcycle up to the second floor. No toga party but did gator. Finished the line ,”they can’t do that to our pledges….before the actors on the screen finished it. Wrecked cars, stole pigs from the ag school and took as many liberties with our dates as we could get away with. Threw empty beer bottles off the front porch over River Road and cleared it most of the time. Actually said ,”Thank you ,Sir, may I have another”. Had our Charter threaten by national. Negotiated my first corporate reorganization when we got behind on payroll taxes and set up a payment schedule on the arrearage.(Otter would have been proud) I understand to most people this movie is a comedy but to me it was a documentary…….my brothers and I knew Dean Tate(Dean of Men)fairly well and fortunately he was much more understanding than Dean Wormer.
