Notes from a prior August

While I was hunting down that quote from Danielson that appears in my previous post, I came across a couple of other things from a year ago I thought were worth sharing again.

  1. All season last year, I worried about the secondary. Pruitt’s thinning of the herd back there upon arrival was devastating. Thank God for Maurice Smith and JR Reed the last 2 seasons.

    • “Certainly this could change, and Smart could prove to be an excellent coach. But the edges that I believe McElwain gains mostly have to do with being aggressive in situations where other coaches apply a more conservative tact. In limited study of late- game situations, Smart has not shown a propensity to be very aggressive.”

“The junior class has absolutely no DBs because there was a mass exodus because a lot of them didn’t think they were being treated well.”

Not shocked, he was probably cleaning house….asking them to work. Heck of a D.C., will be interesting to see how he does as HC.

Pruitt is an asshole and that isn’t a virtue, not matter how much some of you seem to admire that. If he lasts more than 3 years it will be because they can’t afford the buyout.

The reason that the segment of the fanbase that loves Jeremy Pruitt loves him isn’t because he is an asshole. It has to do with recognizing moral and cultural similarities to themselves.

Personally, I don’t know him and can’t say whether he is an “asshole” or not….and really don’t care either way. But I do know he is a pretty dang good DC. Who knows how he will work out at UT, hopefully…he will fall on his ass and the entire program falls in a sinkhole. Do you know him???

Greg I’ve seen you make no less than 27 variations of this same comment since they hired him. For someone who “hopes he falls on his ass,” you sure are an ardent defender of the man.

Not sure why you feel that way, or even care so much what I post. But here you go:

            1) He was/is a helluva DC.
            2) Grateful for what he did at UGA.
            3) DGAS about him now, he is dead to me. I just think it is hilarious that some are all convinced that he will fail at UT. You don’t know, till you know.
            4) Thinks it is hilarious that you or some claim to know him and make the statements that you just did.
            5) Hate UT worse than any program….I wish nothing but failure for the both of them. Notre Dame second, Ohio State third

Kemosbe???…are you still confused? You act like a teenage girl sometimes, one that got jilted. Relax, I’m not your enemy….but I do think it is cute.

Good Lord…..meaning that he has moved on from UGA, there is NO affiliation….. You’re not that slow/dense are you?? At first I thought you were just my personal stalker & wanted to argue. But not so sure anymore. You are taking my way to much interest in me…it’s a little creepy. Move on dude, you are embarrassing yourself.

There is something wrong with a hated enemies list that doesn’t have Florida in the top 3. Auburn, too, when I think about it.

DeAndre Baker was in that junior class, he was pretty good.

One of ’em ran on the field in celebration with his helmet on during Kirby’s first Tennessee game …think he was told that he might as well move on. But had nada to do with CJP.

Reading Elliot’s article from last year shows how uf’s blue chip numbers had dropped from 54 to 37 and so far the numbers this year aren’t adding to that number. At these levels Smart will have 2X the number as uf, which doesn’t bode well for them.

Guessing Georgia’ll be #2 or 3 this year on the blue-chip list. Not sure if/how it accounts for percentage of those that are underclassmen, though. Roster-wise, we stack up with anybody, but a lot of Bama’s blue-chippers are in their 3rd or 4th years now.

No system is perfect, but he got a pretty decent reflection of talent-to-success there. FSU really fell apart when they lost Francois. LSU is coached by Easy Ed. Oklahoma was absent. Michigan, not sure about them. But, for the most part, it was a pretty solid indicator.
