Yes, Kirby Smart now has a Coke bottle at the podium. Just like Nick. pic.twitter.com/sCggoJOqxA

I guess Kirby has time for that shit.

Kirby likes Coke–so what?

I’ve never understood it. Who in the room –Georgia, Kirby Smart, the football program–is so cash-strapped they have to have a Coke bottle advert right next to them to get just those few extra bucks?
Is the tacky sell-out look worth it, because we’re just that poor and desperate?

The cash just doesn’t appear…everything has a price attached to it.

Kirby said he appreciates all that Coke does for UGA….

Kirby made a couple of funny comments when asked about it and then said Coca-Cola has been very good to Georgia.

It is sure as hell better than a Pepsi bottle

Yep… the fact that the world’s largest soft drink company is only about seventy miles away and we basically let a different state school claim the brand and all the associated exposure is nothing but negligence on the part of the previous regime. You can bet your ass when the joke by coke hires their next football coach they will need a bigger podium for all the coke stuff.

You blaming this on Richt or Bobo?

Huh? You really think Richt or Smart had any input on this (or even cared)?
That beverage company’s logo is plastered all over the campus and is almost as ubiquitous as the Arch, the Power G and Uga.
Coca-Cola had the huge sign for the Georgia players walking into MBS that said something to the effect – how do welcome a team that’s already at home?

I think the coke bottle is a metaphor for uga football pre and post Kirby arrival. And there is no shortage of concrete examples of the difference.

Has Kirby told anyone to ask the Coke bottle yet?

If a major local company offered me money to put their product on my podium, I’d take it, too.

I’m sure you’d be singing that same tune if that was a box of Kotex up there with him, amiright?

Well, I would rather see the scalp of the HC of the team we just beat on the podium with Kirby, but that might be problematic after the UTknox game

Eh. I’d rather we do our own thing but whatever. As long as it has nothing to do with copying Bama because I don’t think that’s how you bring them down a notch. They’re always a step ahead anyway. We got our 15 associates years after they did and they’re already pushing other gray areas. Be it in recruiting or facilities or perks or whatever.
I get that it may be simply about advertisement and money but I’ve thought about this often. Are we trying to be Bama east or?

Ah, Budwine! Ya know, it was once a bigger seller than Coke…….until Pemberton first made Coke.
I guess Budwine went out of business. Have not seen it in years.
