WAY too early to compare the two and really no reason to. Richt was a DGD and one of the best coaches UGA ever had, I appreciated him. But if you insist to compare, be fair and compare the first two years.
I think we upgraded and am glad Smart is here, but the Richt insulting just gets old & is unnecessary. GO DAWGS!!

You seem like a young “woke” guy so i am sure you were still shitting your pants when CMR took over at UGA. The first 4-5 years of CMR were exactly like we are experiencing now with Kirby. The 2002 team was the best in the country and had there been a playoff would have won the MNC.
The bed shitting didn’t start until the 2008 season (at least on a regular basis, some would argue the 2005 sugar bowl started the trend).
That being said it was time for a change and I am glad we have Kirby.
You can like one without trashing the other.

’07 and ’12 were pretty good teams too. Who knows what would have happened under a different format (4 vs. 2). Just wish the bashing would stop, I guess it just makes some feel better about themselves. Whatever it takes, I guess.

After that season UGA recruited at a very high level for many years just like now.
I hope as a Dawg fan that Kirby gets a MNC or two (or more) but as of today after 2 full seasons he is equal to the first two seasons of Richt on the field.

Pretty sure that is lost on some that the formats are different now. I mean, would a #3 ranked Georgia team have made a 2 team playoff last year. Or, would any of those previous teams that Richt had made the playoffs in a 4 team playoff??

This was a historical RICHT shit-the-bed situation. Kirby DOMINATED. Dawgs are for real…better than 2017. This defense dominated. Lacounte is years better than Sanders. 3 is frosh…..jury out. But much better than Parrish. MaryBeth stronger than Katherine (suck it Mac). Stadium emptied in Q3. Nobody slows this freight train.
