You know my name. Look up the number.

This is pretty awesome.

Salty Deandre Baker is the best Deandre Baker.

This one’s almost as good.

Baker added to his signing bonus yesterday. He’s a turn key lock down NFL corner.

Had a great game…hope our freshman right corner grows up in a hurry. MIZZZOU will be testing him also. Thinks he is going to be a great one, but looked to have had a tough game yesterday.

Agreed. They picked on Tyson a lot. The first TD drive was basically all in him and then the long TD was on him too.

Lots of lessons for Tyson to learn. Might as well have a rough day in a meaningless game in early September right?

        • The long TD was a perfectly thrown ball into good coverage. It happens. If Baker takes away your best option, let the kid take some lumps and grow up. The one play that was frustrating was that he lost his assignment on the end around pass. That’s coachable. 6’2” 185 with speed in a cover corner isn’t.

The end around gave him no option. If he continues coverage, Samuels scores running. He comes up to stop the run and he throws it over him. Sackerlina just caught us in the wrong coverage there.

            Campbell will be fine.

Same here….but to me, it looked like he just got beat. The play set up to look like a run play and he bit. When the receiver released, he should have picked him up.

But again, like you….would like to see the play again, I’m sure he will.

You’re right. Just went back and checked it and they had the edge set. No reason for Campbell to come up on that one. He just got burned. He’ll learn.

That was a very good throw and catch and Tyson wasn’t in bad position at all. I’d be willing to bet that today Tyson, Mel and Kirby all think he could have prevented it though.

Yep, gave up two……but honestly, I feel as though our secondary will shine as the season goes on. They have the potential to be great imo, Tyson will come along…just needs more experience, seems to have everything else. LeCounte looked good, 10 total tackles, a breakup and what I thought was an interception. The future is bright in the secondary.

Lecounte’s best play may have been when he pulled up just enough on the big hit on their receiver to avoid the penalty. Danielson pointed it out as a great example. Last year’s Lecounte would have laid him out and been flagged for targeting.

Yes, nice play…did not lead with his head & hit him with his shoulder. Gotta be a tough adjustment for most, he has been coached well. The game is changing, don’t like the rule, but I understand it. Bet he gets 4 or 5 INTs this year. Great quickness, ball awareness, and attitude. Not afraid to stick his hat in there….err, shoulder.

LeCounte has improved with good coaching and we should remember that credit. We knew he was good and to see him approach the level he is capable of is reassuring to our expectations for a DGD.

They picked on Tyson on the way down to the WR pass too. That whole drive was really going after Tyson.

He kept plugging. I’m glad he’s getting those reps. Humility and realizing you’ve got to get better is a good thing.

It’s only through that process that maybe by November he’s like Baker and then wtf are they gonna do?

Btw: Cade Mays is a dude.

I think these quotes by 18 are awesome, but I’m also thinking “humble yourself”.

Personally I would have preferred he just go into the locker room quietly and let the film speak for itself. But it was pretty funny

The wife & I were saying during the early part of the game that there seemed to be some show-boating. We’ve got two boys, 22 & 20 yrs old, and understand that they’re on a different wavelength. I’m sure if Kirby thinks any of the players got out of hand, he will “handle” it appropriately.

Kirby and the players can give the company line about how they pay no attention to the outside world, but plastering Tori Gurley’s “guarantee” around the weight room and Deandre’s response here prove that they pay at least some attention to “bulletin board” material and what people are saying.
