“If you get to be the coach next year, put him in.”

I’d say grumpy and testy Paul Johnson is the best Paul Johnson, except Paul Johnson is always grumpy and testy.

  1. Whining about a holding call… Road Out of Conference Game – likely ACC Refs… Then again, maybe they don’t like working with the ‘smartest’ coach in all of football ‘ever’…
One thing is for sure… It wasn’t CPJ’S fault they lost…

And they extended this guy out to 2022… Are you kidding me? I’m convinced he has pictures of each board member on a Bill Clinton gettaway down in the islands…

600 yards of offense and still finds a way to lose.

Poor Paul, constantly betrayed by the kids he recruits and coaches, and the coaches he recruits and coaches. If only he could find some competent help.

Watching a Paul Johnson presser after a loss is always entertaining. What a d-bag. I can’t believe we get to keep him

I love how it’s never CPJ’s fault. I also love the snark at the end of this article.

Paul Johnson, the gift that keeps on giving. The real problem for Tech is the guy can’t or won’t recruit quality players. Here’s hoping Paul Johnson stays at Tech for another 20 years.

Maybe you need a reminder, but Paul Johnson could give two shits about recruiting rankings. This strategy is obviously paying off well for him.

While I enjoy moments like this, I’d rather not have to play the Chop Block King every year the week before the SEC Championship. Basically have to detour for a week to learn to defend a different type of football and play a team that loves nothing more than to take out a prized defensive player’s legs right before postseason.

Eh, I see what you’re saying but it’s also a solid refresher on fundamentals. Discipline, pursuit, and tackling always works and I see it as a pretty good diversion that sharpens our linebackers.

Fair point on the discipline part for defensive players. Probably is some upside there on fundamentals and mental discipline. I could certainly live with that if not for the other part where their offense is all about cutting at the knees.

A near guaranteed P5 win every year is nothing to sneeze at. Plus we get the enjoyment of Stingtalk 50 weeks out of the year (it always seems to be closed right after our game).

  8. The hilarious part of this is that it’s obvious Fish Fry knows that they want to move on. That decent 2016 season boxed them into a corner where they couldn’t can him, even though everyone there is over his shit.

Here’s hoping he grinds out an 8-4 season and they are stuck with him again.

  9. If USF ran 2 kicks back, imagine what Mecole is going to do if he gets a chance. Here’s to hoping they only kick once to us at the beginning of the 2nd half and Mecole houses it.

That my friends is classic. An answer many coaches would like to give, no doubt.

  11. Stingtalk is a lot of fun right now. They are pretty much cannibalizing each other. One of the mods had to post a message telling everyone to chill. Lol.

So glad paul THE johnson received his contract extension from the north ave. parks and recreation department to try to recruit young people to play his brand of football. Hell, I even contribute $1.50 to keep him there!!
