Wonder how much research Mike Griffin had done before he said that Holyfield was not an SEC championship caliber back.

He runs like he is pissed off. I think he likes to hit guys.

  3. ESPN was interviewing 4 or 5 guys from our defense last year before the Rose Bowl Games. They were talking to them about Michel and Chubb. The question asked was, who do you hate going up against the most in practice. Answer back – Holyfield… 🙂

I don’t think CKS has even began to unleash the potential of this offense yet. We may see it against Missouri if the game is tight..but, good grief..we had Swift sitting most of last Saturday…you (I , anyway) get the feeling this thing is still idling When it gets fully crunk, some defense is going to look like Ole Miss’s on a bad day.

Agree. I have the feeling that on both sides of the ball we’ve just clicked along. There will come a time when the sleeping giant is awakened and we get to see the full wrath. When you’re scoring 40ppg and holding your opponents to 7, there is no need to flip through all of the pages of the playbook…but it’s coming.

If we are who I hope we are, LSU is going to get buried.

Remember when we’d say that 4-5 years ago and then nothing else came? Good times.

You might want to save that statement for the end of the season. As you observed, we have said that plenty of times before and been wrong.

And we may very well be disappointed. It’s possible. But i’ll be a little shocked. This team is loaded with talent.

I’m not saving shit. You nancies who haven’t gotten on the Kirby train can save it for after the season if you want – I’m gonna bask in the splendor of being in rare air for the next 9 weeks and talk titanic shit until someone gives us a reason not to.

There seems to be a growingly new philosophy in the sports world that diverges from the whole “don’t talk good about my own team or I will jinx it.”

The fact is, nothing we do, say, or think will have ANY impact on our team. There is no jinx.

Therefore, we might as well enjoy it to the FULLEST when its good. If it stays good, then we got the full enjoyment out of it every step of the way.

If it eventually falls short, oh well. At least we enjoyed it when it was great.

I think we have so many years of sports-fandom-PTSD from the CMR regime where we just KNEW right around the corner every single season was:

              1) The epic bed shitting against a bad team loss. (e.g. 2007 SC)
              2) The show up unprepared to play and then lay down and get obliterated by a good team loss. (e.g. 2007 Tenn)

We will lose games of course. But at least the other team will have to beat us.

I’m with you Chili. I spent the last 10 years as the most pessimistic Dawg fan in Georgia. Not now. I have no reason to doubt or be pessimistic. We have a good, FULL coaching staff, the most talent ever, FINALLY the admin support and we are spending $ on the program. We will give Bama all they can handle when the time comes. Go Dawgs!!!!

I agree. With all the weapons on offense it feels as if this team is just cruising and hasn’t even begun to hit high gear.

9.1 YPC…..wonder how long he can keep that up. I knew he had the potential as a big play guy when he brought that kickoff to he house (penalty) against ND.

Mike Griffith probably doesn’t know any of this either…..probably just another lazy writer. Guess that is what covering UT football does to you.

Three seasons at UGA with a career-high nine carries (so far) in the SEC. Also returned a kickoff, tasked with pass protection and slotted in as Fullback. The NFL will be drooling over RealDeal 2.0! I don’t think it’s hyperbole to think UGA pulls in a Top-3, Five Star back every year. How we use RBs recruits itself. I think the toughest thing will be our selfishness when we only see RBs stay three years because of a crowded position room and the opportunity to start the clock on NFL career even if a dude gets drafted as low as 3rd or 4th Round.

So long as Pittman and the OLmen stay 4, I’m good.

Hoping Holyfield isn’t a 3 year guy, but he will be if he continues to shine. One of the best backs in the country, and flying under the radar, only at UGA. Has happened before with Georgia, but this time with a back that has a household name. Only a few of us were even mentioning him as the year began with Swift and Zeus getting all the press attention at RB.

He is the battering ram I thought he was, but he has better vision and speed than I gave him credit for at the beginning of the season. I still prefer to watch him drop his shoulder and inflict pain on would-be tacklers…

How soon we forget the best RB we have as judged by the players in practice – James Cook..

I haven’t forgotten about him and I’m sure he’s the real deal. But a lot of folks seemed to overlook H&H, and I just think that they are better than folks have given them credit for.

Aren’t we glad he’s a Dog and aren’t we glad he was patient and waited his turn? We know he’s good but I bet we’ll still be surprised by his numbers at the end of the season.

Defenders have to ask his permission first to tackle him. He says yes to those he wants to hit!

The run that UGA has had with RBs over the last few years has been really fun to watch.

3 all timers and a bunch of other really great backs.

I like Elijah’s grit and fire on the field and off the field he comes across in a positive manner. Winning combination, to me. I am diggin the wave we are riding, my Dawg friends! I am drinking the Kool-Aide that Kirby is serving and enjoying every minute!

Heady times when we have an “underdog” type story from a guy who:
-was the #6 RB in 2016
    -had 11 SEC offers
    -9 ACC offers
    -8 big ten offers
-4 pac 12 offers (including stanford, oregon and usc)
    – offers from every participant to date in the college football playoff

I think the chickens saw the full wrath in the 3rd quarter. 21 points, a whole lot of clock, and a can of whoop ass.
