The anchor has definitely been down.

This is probably not the kind of momentum you want to be riding if you’re Vandy getting ready to face Georgia.

  1. If the team is as focused as the previous post with Holyfield’s comments indicates, Vandy is in for 60 minutes of pain tomorrow night.

For no reason at all (except habit, I guess) I have a bad feeling about this game. More years than not, we seem to play badly against them. I’d hate to come up on the losing end of another Clemson vs. Syracuse (or, worse, Virginia Tech vs. Old Dominion) type of debacle.

If it was a night game in Nashville, you might have a point. I’m not worried about this one, but I’d love to see us give a focused, 60 minute performance. If that happens, Vandy is in for a world of hurt.

Syracuse was unbeaten going into the Clemson game and Clemson had a crisis that week with one of their two QB’s deciding to leave the program. For some reason, VT played at ODU and they lost their starting QB to a season-ending injury during the game. With our first night game, I think the players will be pumped and the fans will treat this game as something other than Vandy, if for no other reason than the night kickoff allowing them to enjoy the game instead of baking in hellish heat. This will be a good tuneup for what lies ahead.

What I like about the Fromm / Fields scenario: If one of them is off, the other is bound to be on. It may take a quarter or two to sort it out, but we will win most of the time with our 2nd half points alone, thanks to stingy defense. I can’t see Vandy denying Fromm and Fields both.

I’d love to say the streak continues, but the way we seem to “play with our food”, I imagine Vandy covers this week.

And 27.5 points isn’t exactly a small spread. Five points better than Tennessee.

This is the kind of stat that I love to sink my teeth into as a professional gambler (yes, I lost my UGA bet last week – man enough to own it).
      Dawgs -26.5….easy cover.

Looks like Vandy has been busy blowing spreads in addition to The Admiral: https://twitter.com/jackmaccfb/status/916731497494777856

I never have understood “Anchors Down” – If I’m Vandy, I want my ships moving, not sitting at anchor.

Is anyone else hoping for black jerseys tomorrow? They take recruiting pics in those bad boys all the time….and tomorrow would not get the “fake juice” claim I would not think. Night game. Homecoming. Do it!

Dawgs big. First night game, at home, and the boys are tired of listening to what we ain’t. 52-10, or that neighborhood. Just hope there are no injuries celebrating.
