More, in something’s gotta give

It’s gonna be strength on strength tonight in College Station.

Kentucky has one of the nation’s most productive ground games, averaging 259.2 rushing yards per game (11th nationally) with Benny Snell Jr. leading the way. The junior is fourth in the FBS with 132.8 rushing yards per game but he’ll face his stiffest test yet against a Texas A&M defense that has held opponents to 85 yards per game. The Aggies have already played two good running teams in Clemson (115 yards, 2 TDs, 3.6 yards per carry) and Alabama (109, 2, 3.9), and have surrendered a total of five rushing touchdowns in five games.

I took Kentucky in the FP because I thought the spread was a little generous, but if TAMU can limit Snell, it’s gonna make for a tough night for the ‘Cats.

Kentucky is having an awesome season, but I believe their streak ends here. Hope not, but this will be a very tough game for them, I see a loss for the Wildcats.

Why would you hope they win? KY would have swept the West, be tied with us in the East, and have a home game against us. A loss in Lexington would virtually put them in Atlanta with wins over FU, TN, and UGA. Where would they get 2 conference losses with Vandy, TN, and Mizzou remaining? Like KY, and it would help the East’s image but they could go 8-0 in conference if they A&M and UGA,

And then Bama curb stomps them in the SECCG and an 11-1 UGA goes to the CFP!

LOL!….one way to look at it. Bama got in last year and didn’t play in the SECCG. Didn’t feel that they deserved it…but I will quickly change my tune if the scenario you described happens 😏

2 unbeaten teams going head to head, helps strength of schedule, national interest & tired of hearing about the SEC west. Not worried about Kentucky when we meet, we beat them.

  2. I think TAMU wins this going away, as UKs one dimensional offense finally gets exposed tonight. I really, really hope LSU pulls it out today, but I’m afraid UF is going to pull out a close win.

Oh, we badly need VT to best ND tonight. Otherwise, NDs schedule the rest of the way is a cakewalk, and you know damn well an undefeated ND is getting into the playoffs. They very well might take the spot of the SECC loser, even if they are undefeated coming in and lose by a point.

Flipped script tonight. #13 playing “unranked”. ‘Cept UK is #13, not TA&M.

Texas A&M knows what they have. They have been more than tested against elite programs and elite talent. Kentucky really has not and Kyle field is no joke. I see The Aggies taking this one convincingly.

On offense, it’s all about Terry Wilson. He is the fastest player on KY’s team. He is not the best passer but he is improving every week. On defense, it’s all about Josh Allen and whether A&Ms tackles can hold up. A&M is 118th in sacks allowed. KY is 42nd in sacks made with 7 sacks over the last 2 games. I think KY wins this one — the narrative last Sunday/Monday was KY was good enough to compete with UGA… and now, a 2nd tier West team is going to throttle them? KY will go in with a chip on their shoulder and will be physical and aggressive.
A few X factors. KY can’t lose another starting O lineman. They are very shallow at OT. Also, Josh Allen can’t go down. Finally, Kash Daniel is an excellent LB and is suspended for the first half due to targeting. Not sure how much that impact will be in the first half.

I thought USCe was the second coming of the ‘85 Bears? Or the rightful heir to the SECEast crown? Or good?

I don’t know how good/bad either Florida or LSU are. But I hope they beat each other up.

Right? It seemed like the final 2 minutes of that game took 30 min with TO’s due to player injuries. Obviously, I hope those kids will be ok but I wouldn’t exactly be disappointed if a few of them are sitting on the sidelines next week.

No question Tamu should win this one – at home against Kentucky! If they don’t win, the sec should send their butts back to the Big 12/Southwest conference.

Grantham’s D is looking pretty salty. I, for one, am very unhappy and concerned that Mullen is getting it done down there already. Not good.
