People were livid about 14-point victories. What did you expect?

Come on, bud. Those 14 point victories we’re pointing to Saturday’s performance. Even CKS admits that. Losing is one thing. Getting pantsed is another. There’s definitely a lot of overreacting but when you crap the bed from head coach to water boy, fans are entitled to be outraged.

Lots of obvious things to criticize about that game but our fan base should have already known there’s more to it than a roster of 5 stars. I saw our 5 star safety whiff terribly 2X. No surprise that some of our window licking pro tailgaters are ready to change coaches. Stupid

That same safety tackles like Tray Matthews – he waits until the RB is going by him & tries to jump on his back. But he sure talks a big game w/ his big stick gimmick.

If you have access to Rivals or PFF (Pro Football Focus) you can see their (PFF’s) individual grades for the LSU game. Of the six DB’s graded the next to lowest was the DB discussed. His tackle rating was particularly low w/ only one of the four categories being graded average for a college player. All others were below average.

Maybe this is 2017 again. UGA went through their conference schedule like a dose of the salts until they get beat down by Auburn last year. Same with Alabama. Can 2018 LSU be 2017 Auburn as far as Alabama is concerned?

No, we are not. Adults should not be outraged over a football game played by 18-22 year old men. And they definitely shouldn’t call players out as individuals that are trying their best, especially when those far more qualified don’t have the same opinion. Children do that, and those “adults” not in control of their emotions.

Bama may win big, but I have seen bigger gaps in that rivalry than this year that didn’t look like a mismatch once it was over. And some were recent years.

I’ll go so far as to say LSU is the best team Alabama will face this year, so far. It would tickle the shit out of me to see LSU beat them. Actually, most anybody beating “Bama” would be fine with me. I’m really tired of “Bama” this and “Bama” that. “Bama is unbeatable” “Look out Patriots, Bama wants a piece of you!”
Hell, half of the kids born in Alabama since the NC-17 game are named Tua, girls AND boys. Fuck “Bama”.
And while I’m at it, If somebody had to hand our asses to us I’m glad it was Coach O and the real Tigers. Not that orange bunch that Mahlzahn coaches. Fuck them too. I’m actually glad ut won, as creepy as that makes me feel.

  10. We don’t have the personnel in the front 7 to play the Alabama style defense Kirby wants play this year … man up and beat the guy in front of you. We need to get a little more aggressive especially when we get an offense behind the chains on 2nd down to keep them behind the chains. What I saw Saturday is that we would make a play on 1st down just to have LSU get 6-7 yards on 2nd and then they would throw a short pass in front of Campbell to convert (or get to 4th and inches).

Very true, the internet is a wonderful addition to our lives but there are always those who would spoil anything. UGA isn’t the only fan base who is embarrassed by those with access to a keyboard, but we are definitely in the Top 10. We don’t have a controversy at QB but if you believe the message boards we do because they know so much more than Kirby, who attends every single practice and watches every play of the games multiple times, with a staff of dozens and still doesn’t realize we have the perfect combo of Peyton/Cam/Brady/Elway etc., etc. sitting there waiting to change into his cape. The team and staff know, but why not blast them publicly? Afterall, we lost a game and the sky is falling. One would believe we entered 2018 with no weaknesses/questions and were entitled to get to Atlanta, whip Bama, and get into the Final 4. Anything less, and we are total failures.

I saw the blowout predictions for LSU everywhere last week, what analysis indicated that? Our most likely loss came to fruition, there will be another before December is we don’t patch things up before Kentucky, imo. We could beat LSU in a rematch on a neutral field if we get healthy and play better, but not sure we are progressing enough on D. Nothing ever said “unbeaten” for this UGA team, except maybe “potential”, and potential isn’t always realized.

This. Why tie your happiness to how a bunch of 18-23 year olds play a game? Mostly 18-20 on this team. Same thing happened last season and UGA still had a chance to win the title. This is a different team, I get that. Calm down.

We have our share of dipshit fans just like rest of the conference. That is just lazy reporting. Why not go to twitter and pull off more quotes from anonymous assholes? You could literally do that after every win this year and get almost as much vitriol. We have a lot to work on for sure. It will be interesting to see how they bounce back.

  15. Y’all, Kirby is still slow playing UF. Plus he just wanted to give LSU that shot to beat Bama and go to Atlanta, cuz we’d rather face them there? No?

We just lost. This team isn’t all there yet. Everyone who thought losing 3 (Nearly 4) first round picks wouldn’t hurt sees it now. I just kept saying Saturday “Someone needs to make a play”. Last year eventually Roquan or Bellamy or Nick or Sony would. No one did Saturday.

  16. I told my buddy at the end, “this is going to be a lousy two weeks to be a Dawg fan, because some of us are about to show our butt”. I even told him that the talking points would be (1) Chaney getting fired (does anyone ever like an offensive coordinator?) (2) benching Fromm and (3) Kirby should be fired for calling a fake kick. Beat Florida and exorcise some demons, or lose and turn up the heat. It is the same with Kirby as it was with Richt, Donnan, Dooley, etc. It’s the game, and it’s a part of it. So it goes, losing makes winning feel better.

Imho, I saw the youth finally on the field. The front seven dominance, a frosh corner getting abused, an aggressive safety taking poor angles, Cox playing like a frosh who is used to his size and athleticism making up for poor technique in high school. I continue to be encouraged by the depth we are developing and the continued recruiting depth that’s coming. It was a bad game all around and it happens, but the youth and lack of on-the-field leadership was evident in Baton Rouge.

We’ve got to be ready, though, to punch a guy in the mouth in two weeks. Florida has a swagger about them right now and they aren’t afraid to get in your face and be a thug (both coach and player). Between Grantham and Mullin bringing back the nut house I’ve read about during the Meyer/Tebow years to Gainesville, we’ve got to adopt a Holyfield approach to everything and bring the wood. It’ll be a more competitive game than any of us imagined.

I think we beat FU for a few different reasons but no question, they are playing with some confidence now and that makes them more dangerous. Said earlier, Dawgs win by double digits, but that isn’t a given because we do have a few fleas and our guys need to have learned their lesson about complacency and focus. One would think they got the wake up call in Baton Rouge, but you never know how someone will act after being on the canvas the first time. Last year’s team responded great, but it had strong leaders among the players.

A lot of people are throwing Fromm under the bus, making him the scapegoat. I hate to say it but there is already a rift starting there. Maybe not between Fields and Fromm but a LOT of people on the outside and even some on the inside are already being divisive. I can easily see a racial division happening over it too. Some of the special guests we’ve brought in for recruiting are already being divisive. Honestly, I feel like people are going after Fromm because he can easily be replaced by the latest and greatest but this staff can’t. Then there is the small detail about Smart being a Georgia boy come home, Saban prodigy, etc. He’s basically already off limits for most. This is delusional! I’m not panicked or berating anyone but Saturday was inexcusable. The loss means little to me. It’s the HOW!

Only other thing I can think of is it’s about the coaching staff. I’m not jumping overboard but you can bet your ass that I’m concerned with hurting this program’s momentum. Most elite players won’t play for a program that looks poorly coached and prepared. I don’t see any legitimate arguments that we looked anything but on Saturday.

But Fromm! Sure he made mistakes but most would when their OC abandons what works for no reason and proceeds to throw you to the wolves. The HC just allowed it to happens, too. Damn right I’m concerned. It would make sense if they forced our hand but they didn’t! There is no excuse for how ill prepared and coached we looked.

I understand not wanting to lay the blame on a player, but when your OC calls plays with wide open receivers, and you either make bad throws or don’t see them, that’s a problem of execution. They should have realized he was playing terribly earlier and taken the game out of his hands, but he was still absolutely terrible Saturday.

I am so glad the article did not include that Fromm’s house was egged or something similar. I actually worried that would happen. There is a part of this fan base that feels that these kids owe them perfection. Someone in a Facebook page posted about feeling rage that we lost. That is insane. I hope the fan base shows up supporting our team in Jacksonville. A friend who is a SC fan posted that this week they had fans booing players so it is not just us. I think sadly it shows how little good sportsmanship is taught. I will be there behind my team and coaches proudly wearing the G in Jacksonville.

I don’t do game threads/social media for the simple reason that they only exist for people to convert their lizard brain’s fight-flight-freeze impulses into verbal lash-outs. Social media at its distilled worst.

But comb them in the aftermath, and you will find art. College Football Fan in the act of losing while on line and while drunk actually can be pretty entertaining.

I feel sorry for the people to have to do the combing though. I would guess its like cleaning out the bar bathroom on Sunday morning.

While the whole game was a cluster fu*k, I’m thinking that somewhere the milk aint clean with Fromm. One doesn’t go from playing like he did last year to the way he played Saturday. Is it the coaching? Is the whole dual quarterback situation a bigger deal than we know? The team dynamic changed that much? His over/under passing isn’t his normal self and I wish he would get himself sorted out.

There is no replacement for Wimm’s production on this year’s team. By the way, there wasn’t in the championship game after he went out. Last year, when all else failed, he could throw a high sideline throw and Wimms would catch it. Now those plays are sacks or dump offs. Against less athletic teams that worked. It didn’t Saturday. I keep thinking about what Murray was able to do with Conley, King and Bennett and can’t figure out why that can’t be replicated with the crew we have.

Drawing fanbase conclusions from trolls on a message board is the laziest journalism there is.

Most of the Georgia fans I spoke with at the game drew comparisons to last season’s game at Auburn. The team needing the win outplayed the team wanting the win.

I have to remind myself that every opponent has a roster of 85 scholarship athletes with at least one (sometimes multiple) offers…it’s great to be able to out personnel your opponent (Saban comes to mind) but it’s not wise to underestimate a focused and hungry opposing team…LSU must not have read the sports page to see they were going to lose… 😉

Was . A. Beast. for. LSU.
Not one Dawg player could handle 45. Way to fast coming off the edge to pressure and get to Fromm.
Perhaps 320lb linemen have trouble protecting the edge. Seems like all season the tackles and ends are not blocking very well this year.
Other than Baker and 20 the secondary could be fair at best.
Defense gave up too many big plays due to mistakes…two long passes and two long runs. Tucker and Smart have a lot of work to do with this defense.

So how much game planning did Chaney put into this game. No doubt he must have never seen 45 on film.
Plus why not run a two TE set in all series in first half with a two back set and one wide out. Make their corners play up and pound them on runs. If you are going to play Fields load up the blocking and use two backs with no a fast pace.
Why not zone block more in first half. And pick up the pace of the plays and the number you want to run in a game.
Dawgs should run at least 80 plays per game with the depth on offense. Not overwhelming experience do have the numbers.
Tucker, Smart, and the defense have trouble with fast pace teams. LSU eat them up on that.
For what ever reason Chaney never wanted to commit to the run.
And next time do not give leave three points on the field running that dumb arse fake field goal. One of the best kickers in the SEC and D1 and you run that damn play. On the road build points and momentum.
Beginning to believe Smart has trouble beating teams out of the SEC West. His record clearly shows it so far.
He needs to improve the performance of his teams on the road against top flight teams…Auburn last year, Bama, even OU in the first half of bowl game, and now this total domination by LSU.
