“... Shoot, why does anybody who’s ever won something do it again? Because it’s cool. So, let’s go do it again. Let’s see if we’ve got what it takes.” -- Stetson Bennett, The Athletic, 3/22/22
Geez, 51 players in the league from Alabama.

I’m actually surprised it’s not more. With the talent that has come through that program in the last 10 years.

Matthew Stafford and Aaron Rodgers skew those stats just a bit. Still it’s a selling point.

And Gurley, just signed the biggest RB contract ever, in terms of per-year salary.

Good point about TG3II, well deserved and earning every dime of it.
I really hope we see him on the sidelines at Sanford soon.

That would be pretty cool. Gurley reps the “G” as hard as anyone out there.

Don’t forget AJ Green as well. I think those 3 guys are all top 3 highest paid for their positions.

I’m embarrassed that I forgot about the best WR I ever saw play at UGA.

I’d bet we’re consistently near the top over the past 25 years or more. Some of our nfl retirees like Charles Johnson, Hines Ward, Richard Seymour, Marcus Stroud, Champ Bailey, etc. were making big bucks.

Does that include Gurley’s jersey-signing money?

If you need to find the poster child programs for underachievement, just look at those California schools.

So more Bammers in the NFL but the Georgia guys make more money. Looks like the NFL is a slice of real life after all.

I got to tour the fancy new recruiting facility at the stadium a couple of weeks ago. In the area showcasing the Rose Bowl and SEC Championship trophies is a ticker that runs constantly. It shows two things: guys who were drafted and their draft slots, and the career earnings for various UGA guys in the NFL (Example: Charles Johnson — DE — Carolina Panthers — Career Earnings $74,771, 674)
So you damn right that UGA is using stuff like this in recruiting.

That’s a cool stat.

I really hate have a week off between an ugly loss and the Florida game.

30 players, most money made. Somewhere McGarity is smiling. Now that’s bang for your buck!

Jeesh, that Stafford money is ridiculous.

While AL has more players in the NFL, it is rookies Chubb, Michel and Smith that NFL analysts talk about quite a bit. AL rookies, not so much. GMFB Kay Adams did a segment on UGA’s ‘Running Back U’ last week (I think). Made me really proud to see UGA get some love and they don’t do that on a regular basis for any school!
