Beyond buy in

Jeremy Pruitt haz a sad after yesterday’s blowout.

But it’s clear Pruitt is losing patience as he eagerly awaits a recruiting season that could help Tennessee make up some of the difference that separates the Vols and Tide.

At one point, he even wondered aloud about his own players, telling the audience of reporters, “Maybe today they weren’t good enough.”

Fulmer looked on with the same look of revulsion, simmering in the background.

Had he stuck around after Pruitt finished his news conference, he may have lost it.

I can’t help but wonder what it must be like to play for a coach (and his boss) who have basically written the team off almost to the point of contempt.

The irony in all this is that Tennessee started their long downward spiral under Fulmer’s watch. He’s looking on with disgust at the end product of his own incompetency.

CBS missed so many opportunities yesterday for Sad Phillip shots. I was kind of disappointed in them.

But last week when they conquered Auburn, they showed him..smiling, clapping. They were saying what a watershed moment it was for him. It was enough to gag a maggot.

It’s going to take more than a year for him to make up that ground on Alabama, but I expected UT at least to put up a fight.

Was traveling yesterday and flipping back and forth to the games on Sirius radio and caught Pruitt during the halftime q&a with a reporter and she asked something along the lines of what will it take to get back in the game and he said something to the effect of some players to sign on signing day. My wife who couldn’t care any less about football said that sounds horrible for the kids on his team. If she picked it up I know the players parents did, assuming they haven’t given up on the team too.

Maybe Pruitt needs to buy in on what he is saying before the kids will.

you want to make 3-7mil coaching football ? Well, impress me with your coaching of football. Kirby did the same shit, just wasn’t quite the redneck in his delivery.

Truth is, TN has gotten more physical this season. I was not surprised at the AU win, and think SC, Kentucky, and Vandy will face a different Vol team going down the stretch. I am still not sold on JP’s ability to handle all the HC situations he will face with personnel issues, smoozing with the Big Donors, and keeping his cool with administrators but he does have a lot of playing time to sell. The big boy recruiters cannot sign all the talent, they will get better in the next year or two if Foolmer can contain himself and step back.

These people are such a bunch of graceless losers. In addition to Fulmer and Pruitt, Jones. Smoking a stogie as if he’s just won something? What a disgrace.

I almost feel sorry for Pruitt. But the man had to know what he was getting into when he accepted the job.
And comparing your players to Alabama’s right out loud shows that JP’s lack of emotional control..or an ignorance of what is less than gracious being voiced by him, might become (if it hasn’t already) another negative factor in rebuilding the program.
While I don’t think PP is really as sinister as we pretend he is (I doubt he’s actively consniving to take over as HC), it could happen..esp if JP loses his cool enough to make an embarrassing scene that offends the players enough that they quit on him.
They played hard and fought right to the bitter end, I”ll give them that and JP should tell them he’s proud of that.
I’m not so sure they win another game. As the announcer said last night, “Vandy isn’t an easy-out”. All hell might break out if they beat the Vols again.
How’s your pop-corn supply? Better re-stock with what’s going down on the plains coupled with this.

Total chickenshit move by Saban not kicking a field goal to put 61 on he board.

    Pruitt is a dick.

Now that they beat Auburn UT is probably going to win 6 games this year. Look at the schedule. The Vowels will then get to go to a bottom level bowl against some team from an inferior conference and will win the bowl. That would be a 7-6 record–a winning season made from the charred embers of a dumpster fire. In the last 10 years prior to this one, how many winning seasons has UT had? Four. And two of those were 7-6. If Pruitt can pull off a winning season with what he inherited in Knoxvegas he should be named Coach of the Year by somebody. I know it is popular to badmouth him right now but mark my words: Much as I hate it Pruitt will be successful at UT. Those toothless asswipes backed into a good hire.

I’m sorry if you are just discovering JP’s candor. It’s not like he didn’t show it at UGA. I mean the man does not know how to be diplomatic, LMAO.
