Oh, and he was in the second season of “Luke Cage”. Didn’t realize he was so young.

Luke Cage show runners have done a good job with weaving musicians into their episodes. Soon as I heard him, I was looking him up to see who he was. Incredible talent at that age.

That’s so great. I judge all blues guitarists on whether or not they throw their head back and subtly shake their head “no” while they solo. If they do, I assume they’re legit. This guy does. I accept him.

  13. Any idea where this was recorded ,Senator ?, because it looks like it could be Club Zero in Clarksdale. My favorite Kingfish story was when we saw him while he was still in High School I asked him ,Who comes in second in his High School talent show and he just laughed his ass off. Still wish he’d lose some weight because talent like this needs to stick around as long as possible.

Ground zero in Clarksdale is a do not miss experience. Just local talent the night we were there, but still amazing. Would have enjoyed seeing Kingfish, for sure. The history there is powerful…home of the inspiration for the song Crossroads
