A sobering thought

For anyone who’s tried to comfort themselves with the thought that last year’s Rose Bowl is proof that Georgia can handle a high-powered offensive attack when the chips are down, this tweet is definitely not for you:

Also, unlike that Oklahoma team, ‘Bama actually has some guys who can play defense.

I’m sorry folks. I just cannot get a good feeling about today.

It’s really hard to know just how inflated Tua’s and Murray’s numbers are from having played such weak schedules.

Tua’s great, no doubt, but he has to be human, yes?

On the lighter side, to nobody’s surprise there’s a ‘Roll Tide’ thread at Stingtalk.

    Two things I believe:

We’ve got a decent chance at winning if (a) we can get at least a little pressure on Tua, and (b) we have at least some success running between the tackles.
Those things won’t happen and we’ll lose.

It wouldn’t shock the world if it wasn’t a long shot. Again, you aren’t going to find any comfort in the statistics. UGA isn’t a complete mismatch personnel wise so you got to have faith that the coaches have a good scheme, call the plays and the dawgs can make the plays they shouldn’t be able to make against a team that, on paper, they shouldn’t beat. One thing that stats can’t show is I believe we have seen the best Alabama but there is no tape of the best UGA team.

It’s time to be a delusional homer and go all in on black (& red) Go Dawgs!

(Even if we put all our hopes on the line in this game and get gut punched it ain’t like we haven’t been there before and came back. Best fanbase in sports)

We can win. But it’s going to take a flawless effort. And/or spiking the Tide’s drink dispensers with highly concentrated bong water.

If the Dawgs pull off an upset today, I’m afraid they are gonna stick ‘Bama in the Final Four anyway.

I fear we will have to beat them twice to win it all.

That’s what makes today so gloomy for me. Even if we pull off the upset it will likely mean little (unless Clemson upsets Bama in the semi-final).

Jeebus guys, let’s be thrilled with a win today. I will worry about the rematch after the January 1 victory.

What really sucks is that Tua will be back next year too, so no way we can win next year either.

Maybe 2 years from now, if Tua goes pro and Fromm sticks around. But Fromm might leave at the same time and Fields will have transferred by then.

    Sigh.

Please dont overinflate the Bama D….Ark laid 31 on them…..Mizzou shutout Ark. Think about that for one minute. Offensively, we can go toe to toe with ANY offense in the country. I personally think a complete redo from January….23-20….Dawgs on top.

  11. I have no doubt we can win today. I have many doubts we will win. If we can get it to the 4th quarter, I think we’re going to win. If we can’t, let’s go use the Sugar Bowl as a way to get ready for ‘19.

Much better attitude than above. We have an upstream swim, but we aren’t incapable. Lot of weapons, let’s block them and see what happens. Will be tough, but no white flag from me at this point.
