Given the outrage that Greg Schiano’s troubled past at Penn State generated in Urnge Nation when he became a serious candidate to succeed Booch, I have no doubt as you read this that the virtual pitchforks and torches are being assembled for a march on Fulmer over the possibility that Jeremy Pruitt may hire Kendall Briles as his new offensive coordinator.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA… oh, wait. You thought I was serious about that?
Is Kendall tainted by anything besides parentage?

Well, if you want to believe he was on the Baylor staff for eight years and completely oblivious to what was going on while he was there, I suppose not.
What was Schiano tainted by?

Believe me, I just didn’t know anything about him. 🙄

I hope UT doesn’t snag Dan Enos. Regardless, I feel whatever new coach year 2 ‘bump’ the vols expect to see under Pruitt is tempered by the players having to learn a whole new system under a new OC.

You don’t think Enos will take over for Locksley at Alabama?

Yeah, Enos ain’t going to Tennessee.

Anyone who doesn’t think the Vol fans would sell their souls for any person selected, even Satan himself, is simply naive. They rally behind any coach selected and go all-in regardless of what they have done before, and especially whatever they do while in Knoxville. They are the closest to being Auburn of any team in the South. Not to say any SEC fanbase doesn’t have some crazies among them, but no one does it full blown like those two. May they continue to languish in Purgatory for their past actions. I hope Pruitt flames out, and more Kiffins and Boothches comes their way. 20 years and counting bitches!! You have to get beyond Vandy and Kentucky to even begin to think about Atlanta again, and then someone from the West will crap on your SEC dream. 30 years is just around the corner Viles.

Well, as long as the coach is the right, you know, kind of guy. https://www.cbssports.com/college-basketball/news/new-faces-new-places-cuonzo-martin-knew-it-was-time-to-leave-vols/

The Vile fanbase is easily the SEC’s most wretched.

I view the Hillbillies as a combination of Auburn and Tech. They’ll go as low as the former and are as resentful as the latter (I think mainly because they’ve been unsuccessful despite going low for so long). Also, Knoxville also combines the bucolic wonders of the Plains and the gritty charm of the Techwood campus. In other words, you have to pay people to play there and/or recruit directly from prison.
But there is hope for the disconsolate Urnge fan base. I’m talking coaching jujitsu. Minimize talent and recruiting shortcomings with schematics. Paul Johnson, it’s not time for you to retire just yet.

from the article, doesn’t seem like Houston (or FSU for that matter) have any issues with him.

Guess what? Ohio State hasn’t had any issues with Schiano.
Some of y’all are missing the point here.

The Schiano outrage by UT fans at the time was total and complete BS, as anyone who did a cursory look into the previous testimony regarding Schiano knew would have quickly realized it was hesrsay of hearsay they were hanging their rage on.
In other words, it’s akin to someone saying I think (but am not positive) that I overheard someone stating they thought they heard a rumor about Schiano witnessing sexual abuse. As absurd as that sounds, that again it was drove fans to protest, thanks in part to Clay Travis in firing them up.
But of course hiring Briles is totally different and acceptable, naturally.

The Schiano uproar was about them deluding themselves into thinking Gruden was interested. Nothing else.

Bingo. Vols fans wouldn’t have given a fuck if it had been Jon Gruden and he was rumored to have known firsthand that Jerry Sandusky was raping young boys and said nothing – they would have cried “Fake news” and embraced him as their coach.
They were pissed because it was Greg Schiano, not Jon Gruden. End of story.

Because a coach’s son as offensive coordinator worked so well for Pruitt in Athens…

Junior and Lulu are the lowest football savvy fans in the SE if not in the whole world. No use trying to have a reasonable conversation with them about the state of their (very low) standing in the conference. Even with a 3 year losing streak to Vanderbilt they still think they are deserving of the respect being heaped on ‘Bama and now UGA. They can’t fathom that they are now bottom feeders and are are destined to remain there, in their natural domain, for years and years to come. Reality is a bitch for the billies. But reality it is. It will sink in sooner or later.

I’m afraid Pruitt is going to turn that program around. What hope is that someone at another program hires him away a la Junior and the toothless maggots have to start all over again with someone like SOD.

Considering he’s done absolutely nothing to warrant anyone else wanting to hire him away – not good.
I continue to be mystified at those of you who wring your hands over Pruitt at Tennessee. He did nothing this past season to indicate he’ll ever have the Vols playing any better than they were under Butch Jones or Derek Dooley.
