“I’d be OK with scheduling them in the right situation.”

How obnoxious is UCF getting?  This obnoxious:

Florida Gators athletic director Scott Stricklin would welcome a two-for-one series against in-state opponent UCF, which has college football’s longest winning streak at 25…

White, after seeing Stricklin’s comments Friday, issued a statement saying he looked forward to trying to schedule a game with the Gators.

“I’m encouraged to hear that UF is open to the idea of playing us in football,” White said in the statement, according to the Orlando Sentinel. “Since I’ve been here, it had been made clear to me there wasn’t much hope of that. Our scheduling philosophy has been transparent since I arrived at UCF — that we’re open to a home-and-home series with any nonconference Power 6 opponent.

“Top-10 programs don’t schedule two-for-one series where the balance is not in their favor. Our growing fan base and our student-athletes deserve better than that.”

Deserve’s got nothin’ to do with it, son.  Ask Bobby Bowden how that works.

What is a “Power 6” opponent?

Surely he isn’t counting Notre Dame as it’s own conference…

If you’re joking my apologies. If not I believe it’s a reference to his conference being one of the big boys too. Like he’s saying it’s not the Power 5, it’s the Power 6 b/c UCF’s whole conference deserves the ‘Power’ label too, you dig?

The whole American Conference is delusional now as well. To go along with their “National Championship” they have now elevated the conference to the “Power 6”. The adds for the conference all during the UCF games have touted themselves as a “Power 6” conference. If you scream something loud and long enough they hope some will believe their hype.

What they’re all too stupid to realize is that you ain’t Power6 until Mickey $ay$ you’re Power6. And there ain’t enough eyeballs or interest to ever make that happen.

Here’s your chance to play one of the big boys and prove you belong and you piss on it? You were just complaining you couldn’t schedule big teams.

And they wonder why they aren’t taken seriously.

  4. White is a douche … UCF, know your place. You should be jumping at a chance to get any kind of home game with the Jorts.

He’s like a lot of politicians … he would rather have the issue than actually take action to solve the problem.

UCF is becoming the only school I would pull for the Gators to beat.

If you have such a growing fan base, surely they will find their way on to the secondary ticket market, make the easy drive to Gainesville and take over the Swamp… go put a bunch of people in the seats in Gainesville if you can really back your shit up with that growing fan base talk.

    “Power 6” is precious.

A team looking to break out should jump at the chance to play an SEC team and beat them on their own field. A team that’s bluffing will ignore the realities and throw up make-believe objections. Pretenders.

It is kind of like your kid shooting hoops in the driveway and just before he starts his drive to the basket he hollers out “Kevin Durant for the game winner”. Make believe is a wonderful thing for the little ones.

The fact that Florida would give them a return trip at all is the best deal they could hope for. This is called over-playing your hand.

I hope LSU re-enacts the infamous Sugar Bowl massacre of 2008 against them (never forget).

    • Given that Greedy Williams has already decided to skip the Fiesta Bowl, I think that probably speaks volumes for how much LSU cares about this game.

Compare that to Dre Baker … I think we’re going to New Orleans on a business trip that will have some fun sprinkled in.

I hate neutral site games but I’d love to see UGA beat the shit out of them them in a kickoff classic.

    • I wouldn’t mind us playing them in the Camping World Kickoff game in Orlando and stomp them in their own backyard. A trip to Disney/Universal with a baby seal clubbing sandwiched in between.

Kirby and GMcG, please, please, please find a way to make this happen.

Screw that, we would crush them and get no more credit than we got curb-stomping Hawaii. Best thing is to continue ignoring this imbecile with the little man complex. Committee has them ranked too high, tired of hearing of them. Wouldn’t watch it buy yeah, I would hope Gayturds would stomp them as well. CF is a nice little story, but I have tired of listening to them whine, and Disney feeding the troll. I know D2 teams that are unbeaten as well. When Southern and Appy were winning 1AA championships, they didn’t make this kind of noise. CF needs to be put in their place, and it isn’t taking one of too-limited spots in the big boy playoff. Hell, ND could beat them easily. WTF is wrong with these clowns? Must have been in the sun too long with no hat, funny things is, they are serious. Glad FU called their bluff.

In fairness to White, a Power 5 Big Brand would in effect be donating several million dollars to UCF through a home and home arrangement. So I get why he’s asking.

There’s a reason home and home with a Georgia-Notre Dame or a Georgia-Texas can work. The economics on both sides balance out. Not true with a UCF.

They can start lobbying the Whatever Season Opener Game today to replace Duke against Alabama. I am sure Duke would be fine with it. TV people would be fine with it. Alabama would be fine with it.

It’s White that would not be fine with it. Beneath his P6 dignity and all that.

Good god man is Duke really going to play Bama in a Season opener. Now that will be a seal clubing. UCF might just be a better opening opponent than Duke.

Alabama/Duke – your 2019 Chick-Fil-A Kickoff Classic. Only barely worse than the upcoming UGA/UVA 2020 game.

It is Alabama’s revenge game. Did you know a college Hall of Fame head coach left Alabama to coach at Duke (I throw out this trivia question to the board…what is his name?)

Maybe Alabama is still angry. It was willing to play Duke at Duke a few years ago. It got Duke to pay it money to kick Duke’s ass.

I’m waiting for the UCF AD to say something about playing anyone, anywhere, anytime, and then Nick Saban saying “somebody hold my Coke bottle…”.

Stricklin should reply back You know that what you say would be true if there were a power 6. Then I would be open to it but since you’re not in the power 5 these are the terms. Take it or leave it.

If LSU could open up a big can on these guys for the New Year, a lot of this chest thumping in Orlando would calm down.
