Today, in Dawgrading

Behold, the 2018 version of 2007’s Tebow’s shoulder excuse:

Man, between ‘Bama and Tech, if Kirby can’t motivate next year’s squad enough to get over the hump, I’m gonna be severely disappointed.

On a related note, I’m surprised people still take offense at the Heisman vote.  I’ve been over that for a couple of decades.

You could see that coming a mile away. I’m glad we gave the Heisman to Murray. We’re going to beat that Bama ass for sure next season.

I hope you’re sarcastic about being surprised. As surely as the Heisman vote isn’t serious, just as surely will college players use anything they can get for motivation. At Bama it’s probably pretty hard to mine a chip for the shoulder.

  3. The Most Overhyped Award in Sports should be renamed the EA Sports NCAA Football Award. The voters give it to whoever has the most video game like stats or highlights.

I’ll take Jake Fromm over any of those 3 any day of the week.

So much this. That award has long been a joke. God forbid you be steady all year long and not have a “Heisman moment”.

Boy you are right about what they have become. I remember when Bama “better fans” were civil and knowledgeable. Now, and this is parallel to our social decline, the Bama fans are as low as Auburn, FU, and TN fans. They seriously get pissed when someone doesn’t pick them to win (and even cover) a football game, or suggest the best ________ whatever isn’t at Bama. I respect what they have done with football over their history, but I neither fear them, nor put them on a pedestal. It hasn’t been that damn long since they couldn’t get Rich Rod to take their job as HC, or firing Price before he coached a single play, or Tubbs flaunting rings in front of them. Humility can be a short step from where you are now boys. Football gods need to punish those those folks.

I was with you until the last line, I love Fromm, but I wouldn’t mind having a qb that can throw plus has wheels.

They won’t, Bama controls that game. Murray is really good, but he hasn’t faced that level of speed from defenders that play their assignments. Saban will look at our 2nd half defensive plan and contain them. OU will get some scores but not nearly what they need to stay close to what Bama can put up.

No one should be surprised that the players take offense. In this dayenage, any kind of “disrespect” will do for motivation purposes.

Of course Tua should have won. Bama has won every title ever given, won every game they’ve ever played, and had the only players on every all conference team ever named. No one else plays college football. Lynyrd Skynyrd got famous because of Alabama football. It is a birthright for every Alabama fan. It’s in their dna, just like the common genetic markers.

    Pre Vote….
    10-25, 164 yds, 2 Ints, 1 TD
    Not very Heisman’esque
    Dawgs destroyed Tua
    I love it!!

Did anyone else see the watch Haskins was wearing? Appeared to be a Rolex presidential with a solid diamond bezel.

Been hearing it all week from Alabama fans: Tua was hurt. Bama played a B- game and still beat UGA’s A+ game. UGA just got lucky. Etc etc etc.

Was it McElroy that said that? He might lose his job for that, bad look for a media whore to be that much of a homer. Our boys had the Alabama offense stoned and it scares the hell out of their apologists.

He has a point tbh. It’s not like we did anything to cause Bama to drop wide open deep balls.

  14. I am a GA. Fan. But you have to give Bama credit if a coach doesn’t win there they put their ass in the street. They sure as hell wouldn’t have put up with Richt for fifteen years. He has major problems in Miami and I am loving it!!!! Bama fired Shula after he went 10-2 because they knew that was probably the best they would get out of him.

Well, if Alabama is upset about Tua not winning (probably with good reason) they can take solace that they provided us with two of the most average Heisman winners in recent history in Ingram and Henry. Those awards should have been given to Bama’s o line.

  16. I’ve seen so many claim the phantom injury of the 4th play of the game was much more severe than the one that actually took him out of the game. The Bammers are all on that bus on social media. He played so he wasn’t injured. I’m sure he was hurt so everyone is. Nevermind all the starters we had out. Besides, injury had nothing to do with the 2 interceptions that he got perfectly baited into and he definitely got baited.

Kirby had yet another chance to affect that runaway train of delusion but noooo. All we’ve managed to do is grow the lore at Alabama. We need to keep winning recruiting national championships and getting better at imposing our will just to keep this staff from being able to shit the bed. Jesus
