Fake juice at Alabama?

Clearly, it was a huge mistake on Kyler Murray’s part to accept the Heisman Trophy.

… And now the Heisman has somehow become College Football Playoff bulletin board material for Alabama, a team that’s already a two-touchdown favorite against Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl on Dec. 29. You can bet Alabama strength coach Scott Cochran, known for his supercharged motivational tactics, will have a field day with this one.

History will judge Murray’s selfish action harshly, no doubt, should the spunky underdog Tide pull out a miracle win against Oklahoma.

I’ve seen this before: privileged individuals or teams who believe they have this royal sense of entitlement to all things. Will make taking them down so much more satisfying.

I just think it’s low class. Instead of congratulating a kid for a great achievement and moving on, they are choosing to use his accomplishment against him. No doubt there will be insults hurled at him on the field and from the crowd….all because he was given a much deserved award over their little darling.
How absolutely, ridiculously stupid and classless.
Maybe it will backfire and he’ll have the game of his life and beat them.

I’m beginning to think more and more that OU hangs with them. They will certainly score in bunches on them. Not sure the OU defense can improve in 20+ days, though.

Imagine how pissed off Phyllis and the gang will be when Jake Fromm wins it next year!

The nerve of Kyler Murray, accepting the Heisman. If he had a shred of decency, he would have weepingly declined while rending his garments and begging Tua to accept it. Never mind that he was properly elected under the system that’s been in place since they started picking winners. IT WAS TUA’S TURN! VIIVA LA RESISTANCE! THIS SHALL NOT STAND.!

Tide fans are especially embarrassing these days, this is just another example, but this isn’t “fake juice”. Fake juice might be a uniform change, or something contrived to stimulate the team, this team rallying around a teammate is somewhat legit. I understand Murray was a good choice, Tua could have been as well, but it seems natural for the players to want to make their QB shine and dominate what Murray can do. I already felt Bama would win by over 2 TDs, then just adds confidence. I would have factored this in even if there had never been any public outcry. Not fake, both teams will try to “defend their position”, Bama is just more capable when motivated, imo.

I tend to agree, either guy was deserving IMO and had Tua won, the exact same reverse would have been the motivation for Oklahoma. Nothing would have been said about that though because they’ve not been dominating the landscape. It’s easy to hate Alabama, sometimes there is fake juice injected into another reason to hate them. I’d expect any team to rally around their guy. If they don’t, their not much of a team mate.

True, but I am not sure OU fans would have been as outspoken as the Tide group. They have become a special breed of bad football fan the last 5-6 years resenting anyone who dares question a single shortcoming, regardless of how small. Just picking someone to cover the spread will set the majority off. I have never seen anything remotely close, and I remember the Bear Bryant years when they were good before. They deserve the ridicule, imo. In some ways they are every bit as bad as AU and FU fans; and I didn’t feel that way before this “new Bama” level of obnoxious showed itself.

Should be interesting to see how Murray does against them. Our QB got 100 more yards passing against than he averaged on the season. Murray can run too. OU isn’t a great defensive team but I’d bet that they’ll score more than UGA’s 28 points against them. Probably similar to what they did to us last year.

Alabama trying to play the disrespect card….sounds like UCF has rubbed off on them. A sad display. And they are after the wrong guy. If their O-line hadn’t been b*tch-slapped around by our D for three quarters, maybe Tua has a better game and wins the stupid thing. Hopefully a year from now the third time will be the charm.

I think GTP should have a “Coach of the Year” award from each SEC division. This would give us all (if Sen. Bluto lets us vote ) an opportunity to vote for Gus just to troll the ‘Bama crazies.

Need I remind you how Bammers are constantly reminding their inferiors how much Class they have?
