Well, speaking as someone who was there for it, there are a lot of answers: injuries, that effing Gurley suspension (Greg McGarity, Man of Jello), a quarterback in Hutson Mason who took a few games to get his confidence under him, transition under a new defensive coordinator, etc., etc., etc.
Sigh.
Although it turns out there’s at least one person who has no regrets.
There are so many great moments from Gurley I had the pleasure of seeing, but I think nothing demonstrates how much his determination to excel made him the great player he was than the way he took over the game in Georgia’s monstrous 2013 comeback against Georgia Tech.
Too bad Mike Bobo had a brain fart and forgot about his playcalling there next season at Columbia.
