Ball’s in your court, Gators.

Based on the man’s track record, it depends on when he gets that sweet contract extension.

Why? I’m admittedly not as up on coordinators and such as others, but is he really that good?

I think that would be Grantham’s 5th job since 2013.

We should have the book on Grantham so no big deal if he stays.

Agree completely. In fact. I HOPE he stays. One thing we do not need is a DC at UF that might be a mystery even if it is just for one season. I hope Florida writes a big check to keep him and then has buyer’s remorse. 🙂

Agree. Grantham is a known commodity, not much of a recruiter, and we’ve beaten his D consistently since he left Athens. DCs like Bob Stoops and Charlie Strong were vital to SOS and Corch getting all those wins. I wouldn’t want to see fu stumble upon the next top DC, or perhaps even worse, poach one of our assistants. I suggest fu give CTG a foolishly big raise and a long term deal he can’t wiggle out of.

Would you want to kiss teenagers butts 365 days a year in recruiting and then work 100 hour weeks during the season?

      I wouldn’t.

If I’m Grantham and the money is about the same, I take the pro job.

I could do it for a while, take my package, and then do call in shows.

Well he’s taken and had coaching jobs in the NFL the most prominent coaching was DC with the Cleveland Browns. And that was a flop. To hell with Grantham he’ll fail again. But hey more can’t blame him. Cincinnati Bengals will be fools to get him.

The Browns haven’t exactly been thriving but for CTG’s term at DC.

I think the guy is a fine coach. I think he isn’t the best recruiter and his system seems too intricate/complicated for 20 hour work weeks.

There is a reason that he keeps getting jobs and its not because Saban, Richt, Petrino and Mullen, etc… are complete idiots.

It’s bad news for Georgia if Todd Grantham leaves Florida.

Yea, we definitely need him to stay in Gville. Aside from him being a mediocre at best recruiter and being infamous for not getting plays relayed in on time, he isn’t exactly the best talent evaluator either. Hell he didn’t want Rakwon McMillan or Reuben foster, if that tells you anything.

Grantham is basically Van Gorder except BVG was actually a good coordinator at one point in his career.

First, we’ve seen this rumor so many times, I think we all know this ends with a raise and him staying in place (in fairness, he had the Gators playing some pretty good D by the end of the year).

Second, I actually think he’d be a better NFL DC than a college one. I think his scheme is better suited to professionals whose entire time is focused on football during the season. Not saying he’d be the next Wade Phillips, but I could see him doing fine in the NFL.

Well Reverend…I’m not so sure bout that. I don’t agree. After looking it up. He did work for Dom Capers as DL, Jim Mora as DL, and Wade Phillips as DL and I knew he worked for Romeo Crennel as DC. But if you look @ the overall performance of his D line and as DC in the NFL is not really that good. I agree on his scheme is prolly better suited for the NFL but still I just don’t see him as a solution on D for the Bengals

  12. He has the same challenge he has always had… Slow to get the play in. It hurt him in College; it will KILL him in the NFL… If nothing else, it will cost the Gators some money… Either way, it’s a win…
