Whither the Georgia Way?

Could we be looking at the next chapter in the B-M saga?

Not that I expect dramatic changes even if McGarity’s contract isn’t renewed.  After all, it’s still the same folks calling the shots.

Are the same people calling the shots? Maybe with change on BoR and with McFrugal leaving a new day is dawning?

So, Senator, who’s your preference for AD?

It will be interesting if Kemp’s appointments have any impact on this.

Hopefully they stand up for GA and keep the Auburn game when it is.

To Russ and Otto: I don’t believe Kemp has appointed anyone to the BoR yet; he has just pulled the re-appointments of the 3, and indicated he didn’t know what he was going to do. He could still re-appoint them, or appoint new people. Presumably, the possibility of re-appointment was why Leebern’s public comments were so milquetoast….

    Extended for one year.

I don’t see UGA doing a national search and hiring a high priced AD with a vision and a competitive spirit. It sounds like the one more year is just buying time to figure out who keeps the seat warm next.

The one year extension is a signal to McCheap to retire. Then UGA will conduct a national search. Be careful what you wish for though cause you just might get it.

Mark Richt for UGA AD. You heard it here first.

Richt can’t run a football program effectively. Why do we think we could run an entire athletic department with infinitely more teams, infinitely greater budget dollars and the fund raising obligations he had supposedly tired of?

Richt as AD would be an unmitigated disaster.

    • I’m a fan of CMR, but that would be a really bad idea. This isn’t Georgia athletics when Dooley was AD.

This has got to be the stupidest narrative out there. In what possible way has Mark Richt demonstrated he can run an entire athletic department? And I’m sure Kirby would be thrilled to answer directly to the man he replaced after that man was forced out.

If you want a former UGA HC to be AD, the correct coach is Mark Fox. Suzanne Yoclan would probably do a hell of a job too.

  8. Looks like we have caved on scheduling Auburn and Tennessee switch spots on the calendar starting in 2020. Good grief.

  10. Auburn in November felt like football. Not much left now. About five years away from an 8 playoff

Auburn in September —— They’ve finally done something to piss me off.
I swear I was stopping by tonight to invite Senator to go all Georgia Way on us, and he beat me to it. Damn these people. To me Georgia Way is rolling over for Auburn – which apparently is as much tradition as the November game itself.

I can’t believe Kirby supports this. He just went down a few notches in my book. And to boot we get Mcgarity another year.

You folks are flogging the wrong area of UGA decision-making. The GOBs with the exposed a-holes are the perps. And just because some of them aren’t on the Bd of Regents anymore doesn’t make them people passivated.
