Wonder what Justin Fields woulda done if he signed with UF back when he was looking around. Guess we will find out what kind of QB he is from afar this year…..gonna say, he will run fast and throw far, but that is it.

Still amazed that Taggart has yet to even sign a QB in his first two classes, and I believe he’s the only P5 coach that has failed to do so. Yet some still want to blame Jimbo for his mess.
It’s so dire down there that their 247 site recently ran an article stating which current non-qb players on the roster played some QB in HS and might get the starting job.

Taggart just picked up Hornibrook as a grad transfer from Wisconsin.

That gives them a subpar backup for a year. It’s still amazing to me that he hasn’t signed one in two classes.

I think Hornibrook will be the starter this year, and that’s not an endorsement of his talent as much as an indictment of the lack of talent already there. I love, SO MUCH, being on this side of things when it comes to UGA-uf!

Right. A Wisky QB with 15 TDS and 11 ints against Big 10 comp won’t exactly turn many heads. Plus he only gets him for one year.

There is a HUGE difference between seeking more playing time versus getting your ass rolled every other play, or maybe he just likes the fsu co-eds/ pregame festivities……much better than the wisconsin corn fed party animals

Meanwhile, Spurrier is coaching the best team in professional football (among the ones currently playing regular season games). Florida should have hired HIM, not Dan Mullen.

A young Spurrier, yes. But the old Spurrier is just a QUiTTER.

The December 2017 Spurrier was less than a year and a half from quitting an SEC team in mid-season because he lacked the energy needed to coach. Why would anyone turn a rebuilding job over to him?
Recruiting under SOS would have been significantly worse than recruiting unde4 Mullen. SOS does not have to recruit in the AAF.

Yet for all its ineptitude at recruiting QBs, since 2008 FU has still beaten Georgia more often than losing to Georgia—often with inferior teams. I wonder why?

Mayor, you are including two of Tebow’s years in your calculation of 6 UF wins to our 5. That is contrary to your premise about UF winning more against us than it lost during its ineptitude in recruiting QBs.
Since 2010 we have beaten UF more than it has beaten us.

It’s a tradition for some UGA fans to use Florida’s technique of framing the argument to insure they look better. FU fans told UGA what was relevant and was ancient history. None of the current recruits were even born in the Spurrier/Goff 1990s, yet many UGA fans walk around with their heads down while we own the total, and most recent, record advantage. Stop being their bitches….bitches.

Look at the article. I used the same time frame it used. If you want to add in 2007 because Georgia won that year feel free. The Dawgs still had better teams most of the time. The losses to the “Sharkhumper” coached teams were particularly galling.

No, I do not want to add in 2007 because the QBs that UF was RECRUITING in 2007 were not playing in the 2007 Georgia Florida game and had nothing to do with the outcome. Same with the HS QBs Florida was recruiting in 2008. Those guys were playing for their HS on Friday, October 31, 2008 and had nothing to do with the WLOCP on Saturday, November 1, 2008.
The relevant Florida QB in 2008 and 2009 was a guy recruited in the Fall of 2005.

Exactly. I didn’t pick the timeframe the author did. If you only want to focus on 2010 through 2018 I’m fine with that. FU had teams inferior to the Dawgs every year except 2010 and how many times did they win? Four? That’s the problem right there. Some of you guys think splitting with the Gators is good enough as long as you get your fun trip to the beach. I want to kick their asses every time.

If we had played Florida in Athens in either 2008 or 2009, they would have still beaten us like a drum.
If you want the Cocktail Party in Athens, go tell Jacksonville to make it financially less attractive to play there.

Since 2011, Georgia has won more than they lost. Since 2017, Georgia hasn’t lost a single game to Florida. You’ve got your arbitrary cut-offs, and I’ve got mine.

I wish the Gators had as bleak of an outlook as FSU, but unfortunately that ended up being a “quadrant 1” victory for us by the time we put a bow on the 2018 season.

As a Gator fan, the epic string of QB mismanagement is sickening. For several of the past years if we had just had a mediocre QB paired with some amazing defenses we could have won at least an SEC championship. It was and is a lost opportunity, especially with Georgia recruiting so well now. Do you guys think you can call Coach Smart and tell him to take it easy on the recruiting trail? Maybe kick a five star or two our way? No?

Well Richt didn’t do UGA any favors with recruiting guys like Gurley, Moreno and Stafford and thinking we can recruit 6 ft. 275 lb. OL and grow them 6 inches and 40 lbs. to make them SEC caliber.
