Seth Emerson ($$) assesses the spring buzz surrounding Georgia’s fourteen early enrollees, and let’s just say I’m really looking forward to this year’s G-Day game. A sample:
OLB Nolan Smith: The freshman, who some outlets had as the nation’s top overall prospect, looks as good as expected so far. From the simple viewing period of practice, Smith (6-foot-3 and 230 pounds) fills out a uniform well as he runs shuttle drills and hits tackling sleds. The word behind the scenes is similar: He is legit.
If you don’t mind, I’ll be off by myself for a little while now.

UPDATE: Non-paywall e/e buzz here.
The upshot for me is Johnson’s and Smith’s timing couldn’t be more fortunate. They have skills and their skills are needed.
“I’ll be off by myself for a little while now.”

’19 has the potential to be a very good season. I’m wondering if I should put the Inner Munson away for a while…

D-Line scares me a little. It’s awful quiet on that side of the line other than “We’re thin”.
Other than that, I’m inclined to agree with you.

Looking forward to seeing both of these guys. Still surprised how little buzz Smith got coming in.

The G Day game is getting more and more like those auto show where you get to see all the shiny new models and get to see them test driven.

Stop worrying about the D-line. My gut tells me that they are better than being advertised. If anything, Kirby is becoming a master at misinformation. Why show your hand if you don’t have to. Last year we didn’t have a pass rush until the SECCG, when it magically showed up. A military analogy would be: why use a tank when a hand grenade gets the job done.
