I think everyone has seen that iconic picture of Nick Chubb prepping for the 100-meter dash as a high school senior, but did you know who almost beat him in the race?
Hey, you beat Chubb in anything, you’re entitled to make a little smack talk.

#TBT– Cedartown senior Nick Chubb prepares for the 100 meter with Eastside freshman & now #UGA DB Eric Stokes to his left, who Nick beat by a hair.

“And Georgia fans, don’t be turds. Enjoy this. Soak it up. It’s awesome. If you don’t win this year, it’s still not a failure. It’s a heck of a run. Back-to-back in the Playoff era hasn’t been done. So, to ask for a third I feel like it’s gluttonous. I feel like it’s not OK. But we’ll be in the mix.”-- David Pollack, On3.com, 5/9/23
Think Nick won that one, Senator.

Oops… reading comprehension skills are a little lacking this morning. Thanks for correcting.

Who beat whom in the race would have been more clear if the original tweeter had correctly used the word “whom” rather than “who” in the tweet. 🙂 At my first immediate glance at the tweet, my brain registered “who beat Nick” before I read it more carefully.

The look on the kids face behind Nick cracks me up every time I see it.

Unfortunately, Stokes hasn’t put on any weight over the last 6 years. Maybe he’ll bulk up this summer.

The fact that Nick Chubb was that fast at that size is still mind-boggling to me. I wonder how much of that speed he would have retained if he had never encountered that cow pasture in Knoxville.

Well, he may be close to getting it all back because he had a couple of runs for the Browns last year where it looked like the defenders couldn’t believe he was zooming away from them.

I don’t know if we will ever fully appreciate Nick. I mean I know we all appreciate him but that was reallysomething special. My grandkids will be asking me about seeing Nick Chubb play.

I have nothing but awesome things to say about Nick Chubb, but this picture is photoshopped.

Yea, just throw that out there with no proof to back it up. Since you’re expert enough to spot that, perhaps you can provide your evidence.
No? Didn’t think so.

It’s hard to tell looking at the picture but if his feet were extended down it looks like they would be about 4 feet (48″) off the ground. I think the best NBA leaders are about 40 inches. But that is Nick Chubb so I say: hell yeah the picture is accurate!

Well, I never bothered to look before, but as someone who knows a little about these things, yes, it does appear to have been enhanced. There’s a pixel outline around Chubb’s entire body that doesn’t appear elsewhere.

Can y’all imagine what Nick would do behind the OL we are putting on the field this year?
