“I just love being coached (by them).”

When it comes to preseason happy talk, new coach approach is right up there with strength and conditioning improvements.

“Coach Warren, he’s a technician,” Bulldogs cornerback Eric Stokes said. “He’ll get your feet right, he’ll get your eyes right. He wants the little things right, and so far, I’ve fell in love with his process.”

Unlike that sloppy Mel Tucker, right?

Oh god. Let’s hope our DBs aren’t worried about how their feet are aligned as they get blown past for a TD.

I just hope he can teach Tyson Campbell to turn his head for the ball. He looked like he was coached by Willie last year.

Lets just hope Warren left ‘Grantham’s guide to DB coaching’ back in Gainesville.

Prescribed technique is iffy..Jimi Hendrix held the guitar upside down.
Almost all coaches know the technical stuff.
But it’s the firebrand motivator (see Erk Russell) that knows how to light that fire of desire and direct it into aggressive and nasty behavior that builds great players that win championships.
Go back and watch the videos of some of those Junkyard Dawgs.
Technique is important and nice but bringing out the beast in a player is sublime.
I’m not saying Warren isn’t a beast builder. I would like to hear words like aggressive, nasty, inspired, etc. used when describing his curriculum.

Echoing the sentiments of several, happy talk is going to happen in the spring no matter who is here or what is happening in practice, workouts, etc. Just take it with a grain of salt and hope for the best. We will miss Tucker, imo, but hopefully not as much as we might fear.

Exactly. These guys are responding to questions. They probably just have to think of something to say a lot of times because there really isn’t all that much to tell and besides, what do you want them to say?

  9. With CKS’s expectations for the”D” as a whole high, curious as to the leeway extended to the position coaches/staff for production/results 2019 and 2-3 years moving forward, with recruiting staying at current level or even adding more top rated student /athletes.. i’m not suggesting changes, just curious! GO DAWGS!
