Man, I love this. To my ears, this is the freshest he’s sounded since Tunnel of Love.

  2. Holding out for the Manfred Mann Earth Band cover version.

Really nice, thanks for posting that. Listening again as I type. Doesn’t have that first five seconds that a hit is supposed to need, but really hangs around for the win. It reminds me in spots of “Good Time Charlie Has The Blues” by Danny O’Keefe.

I haven’t heard a new one of Bruce’s in forever. But then, that might be about the eleventh or so 21st century record I’ve heard overall.

That’s the song. I couldn’t quite get it, was thinking Harry Nilson’s “Everybody’s Talkin'”. Good tune.
While we’re talking about music, the wife and I were at Recess, a little hole in the wall place in downtown Gainesville GA for beers last night. There was a husband and wife duo playing that was really, really good. They were playing some 70’s folks stuff and they played John Prine’s “Paradise”. I tipped them pretty heavy and told them anything by JP was fine with me. They did “Hello in there” and a couple of others, then the husband sang “Sam Stone” and the wife did “Angel from Montgomery” and I swear it was better than Bonnie Raitt’s version. She had half the place in tears. But…., the best song they did was my wife’s request for “These are the Days” by 10,000 Maniacs and she blew the roof off it. Just outstanding.
There was a playpen about best concerts a while back. It wasn’t exactly a concert but I haven’t been that touched by anything live in years.
I think they play there every other Thursday, if you’re local check it out.

Good tune. Bruce must be planning for a Bob’s Country Bunker gig.
