“I don’t know who creates a story like this.”

Gosh, look who’s back in the news.

Zach Smith was arrested on Thursday by the Delaware County Sherriff’s Office for violating a Civil Protection Order. The former Ohio State wide receivers coach became confrontational with staff at Scioto Ridge Elementary when they did not allow him to pick up his children. He was arrested and taken to the Delaware County Jail, the Toledo Blade’s Kyle Rowland first reported.

Smith was charged with violating the CPO, which is a misdemeanor. He will be arraigned at 10 a.m. Friday.

Corch sure can pick ’em.

How this clown managed to stay on a coaching staff as long as he did is a testament to administrative tolerance and stubborn blindness.

UPDATE:  Zach Smith’s lawyer has been and is definitely still a douche bag.

Zach Smith’s attorney, Brad Koffel, told WSYX-TV in Columbus, “Same old, same old. Absolutely malicious move by his ex-wife to have Zach arrested at their kids’ school when he was there to pick them up. She’s in contempt of court for not giving him the kids last night which she was supposed to. Just very sad for the children. 100% avoidable by both of them.”

This is all McMurphy’s fault. His fake news about Smith trashed the man’s career and reputation, sending him over the edge. These reports are in no way confirmation that the reports of Smith’s crazy and violent behavior was over the years accurate. (sarcasm alert/that’s how this works, right?)

Man, can you imagine being one of his kids at the pick up line yesterday? If Urban has an ounce of shake, he will help create a trust fund for all the therapy they’re going to need.

  2. The other Doug

This couldn’t happen at a worse time for Zach. Corch is starting to put the feelers out for his Southern Cal staff right now, and this will make it tougher for Corch to hire him as an analyst.

Sigh. This guy can’t get a break.

And just think, each time he gets arrested, the headline will include “Former Ohio State Coach”. Gotta have an effect on recruiting.

i wonder what Zach’s resident defense attorney has to say about this…. Mayor? How about it? This must be the wife’s fault, somehow, right?

Oh, good. Now we can expect months of selfie videos of this clown wearing a backwards fitted baseball cap and Faux-kley sunglasses telling us all about how the truth’s gonna come out and how he’s going to take down all of the Delaware County cops.

Re: Zach’s lawyer: how much money is Zach’s mother going to spend surrounding him with “it’s not your fault, honey” toadies? Good grief, lady. Go play some bridge and let your son look in a mirror for once.

      Or himself.

I’d never be one to tell anyone “If you jumped off a bridge tomorrow, you and everyone you know would be happier.”

But in this guy’s case, I might preface it with “Son, if you can’t straighten up and do better than this …”

  8. The Truth

I’ve said it here before and I’ll say it again: I’m not really clear on my “paths” — psycho or socio — but this buffoon is one of them. I just hope the kids don’t get hurt when he finally completely snaps.

Also, do you find it interesting that HIS lawyer would say, “100% avoidable by both of them.”

I actually have more respect for the lawyer for acknowledging that his client is also to blame in this whole sordid mess.

This is turning into just a sad story. Zach Smith, go get some professional help before it’s too late to turn your life around.

      • ChiliDawg

Yeah man, that he only assigned half the blame to the victim is really fucking admirable of him.

Do you hire a plumber to pour concrete down your toilet ? No.

Don’t be a douche. Your anonymous internet virtue signaling and good guy bonafides are duly noted.

If only Urbs old lady had just told him about him smacking his wife around..
