On your knees, Dan.

If you’ve enjoyed This Week in Florida Football as much as I have — immensely, in other words — allow me to introduce you to the cherry on top of the sundae.

A source told ESPN.com that Steele made Florida staff members aware of his complaints about Jones, dating to January, and that multiple complaints were made. What the specific complaints referenced is unknown, but Steele was requesting to be relocated from the dorm.

The Florida staff did not immediately move Steele, and didn’t plan to move him until the summer, and when Steele’s name was associated with the police reports from Jones’ accusation, it exacerbated the concerns Steele had, according to a source.

Florida coach Dan Mullen has tried to reconcile the situation as the former ESPN 300 defensive back, ranked No. 95 in the 2019 class out of St. John Bosco high school in Bellflower, California, was in line to contribute this upcoming season after enrolling early at Florida.

Mullen and his wife, Megan, travelled to Steele’s home Wednesday, according to a source, and apologized to Steele, making an effort to have him rejoin the team. Steele returning to the Gators is not out of the question, as a source told ESPN.com that the Steele family thinks very highly of Mullen, but it will be difficult as Steele was traumatized by being associated with the police report.  [Emphasis added.]

Groveling is good for the Gator soul.  Well, I don’t know about that, but it’s pretty good for this Bulldog soul.

The Cocktail Party smack talk is pretty much writing itself at this point.

Now and forevermore, Mullen shall be known as Sideshow Dan, because:

    He’s a clown
    He’s an unaccomplished clown
He’s so obsessed with Kirby, he probably has “Die Kirby, Die” tattooed on his chest (which is of course German for The Kirby, The).
He spent this entire week stepping on rakes to DawgNation’s utter enjoyment.

    Sideshow Dan. Spread the word.

But he doesn’t have a mullet. But he IS a clown. Trust me; Sideshow Dan is a thing that we must do whatever we can to make happen! 😂

    Is Jones still at UF?
This is a hell of a way to run a railroad.

If anyone ever had a case for a transfer waiver to play right away, it’s Steele, yes? The fun part of all of this, as a popcorn-eating bystander, is that isn’t actually over yet.

In truth, it’s frankly sad that Steele and his family had to go public with all of this to get Mullen and FU to do anything about it.

I will bet Steele does return, but is still a humiliation for Florida.

Right out of the Urban Meyer playbook…..Getting your wife involved in your shit to portray yourself as a good, family man.

This guy is a creep, just like his mentor.

Mullen’s off season has been like a bull in a china shop. If he’s not running his mouth in an effort to impress the media, he’s re-recruiting his own players, or fixing one fiasco after another. No doubt he’s planning and pining for the peace and quiet of Lake Oconee where he can kick back and continue to get nothing accomplished.

Meanwhile Kirby is quiet as a church mouse, coming off a successful and injury-free spring, and recruiting as hard as ever.

  8. There is a current DGD’s uncle that owns a good BBQ joint in Bellflower (really good considering finding decent que out here is a tall, hefty task). Maybe the Steele family will swing by for some tasty vittles and a new school recommendation. Would love to see this dude @ UGA, he has a chance to be special (not to mention the Coach Warren recruiting connection). #ftmf

Not only is Steele a talented player, he’s apparently a more perceptive judge of character than anyone on Florida’s coaching staff. Maybe if Mullen hadn’t been so preoccupied with spring game attendance figures he would’ve noticed some of the red flags that Steele did.

Was Sideshow Dan this goofy in Starkvegas? I guess nobody notices stuff coming from there.

I got absolutely NO work done yesterday as I reveled in Sideshow Dan’s screwups. To be honest I wouldn’t have gotten so riled up if he kept his big mouth shut instead of poking the bear.

Same with me, except with sleep. I spent HOURS last night catching up on all the news from that last two days.

Sideshow Dan kept me up until after 0100, but it was worth it! What a clown!!!

Santiago Steele wanted off the base in Guantanamo. Mullen issued the code red.

Dude! I’m glad I’m not the only one that thought about A Few Good Men. Kirby will be calling Airmen O’Malley and Rodriguez to the stand but first…

The only reason that Mullen is even paying any attention to him is because of the new transfer portal. If not he would be holding that student hostage. This is a great example of a student that will benefit from the transfer rules.
