And then there’s dominance.
Shit, Dan Mullen’s spent more time trolling Georgia than that.
And then there’s dominance.
How dominant has Georgia been against the SEC East the last 2 years?
In 2017-18, the Dawgs played 720 minutes of football against East teams.
They trailed for a total of 9 minutes and 38 seconds.

I wonder which teams own those 10 minutes?

I think Kentucky in 2017

The Gators led for about three minutes last year.

lol, maybe that’s why they’re so mouthy this offseason.

Bama’s only lead us for a minute and seven seconds over the national and sec championship games.
We may have taken losses in those, but I don’t think you can chalk two games like that up to luck on our part. We should be given much more credit for controlling them over two games.

Yeah, but those 4th quarters ( and OTs) have been a bitch. Hard to think about, and harder to watch. Pedal to the metal for 3 quarters doesn’t get it.

The horrific officiating in those two games didn’t help.

I get it about the officiating. But when the UGA offense goes into “prevent mode” early in the 4th quarter, I start to get a sinking feeling that has nothing to do with the officiating.

Just curious, what exactly do you mean by “prevent mode”? Check the run/pass splits, because they didn’t change a whole lot. If by “prevent mode” you mean we lost a key player and didn’t have an answer for their QB changes and overall just wore down quicker because we didn’t quite have the talented depth they did, then I wholeheartedly agree.

Very true. I’m not trying to take anything from Bama, but there have been very few teams to play them at their own game and more than hold their own.

Not trying to take anything away from Bama, but there have been very few teams, if any, to go toe to toe with Alabama on their terms.

Kentucky led for a little over six minutes in 2017. Florida led for right at three last year. Vandy led for fifteen seconds last year.

Let me start by saying that I’m a huge fan of Fromm. I love the way he prepares, motivates the team, and plays with confidence. But, I can’t get out of my head why he slid down on a scramble in the SECC about 2 yds short of the the first down. It was in the 4th qtr and UGA could’ve kept the drive going and kept the clock moving. It was unlike him to do that. That play, along with some strangely conservative playcalling and a crazy fake punt, led to Bama coming back to win that one. Let’s hope they can put it all together when it counts this year.

It was 2nd and 10 late in the 3rd. If it had been 3rd or 4th down I might agree that it was worth the hit. But it wasn’t.

Sorry Derek. HD’s right. I thought the same thing at the time. When it’s the 4th Quarter in a tight game, particularly one as important as that one was, and you have a chance to get a first down, you don’t slide two yards short–you get as much yardage as you can trying to make the first even if you don’t make it and even if you have to take a hit. I thought he was going to get to the first down marker and the next thing I saw was him sliding 2 yards short. (He also got a bad spot IMHO.) Not beating up on Fromm who’s a great QB and even better kid, but it was a mistake, probably brought on by the coaches drilling it into his head repeatedly to get down because of the lack of a qualified back-up QB. The last thing any Dawg would want would be for Fromm to get hurt and be out of the game in that situation but sometimes you can get TOO conservative and that was one of those times.
