“I don’t know what I would do if I was in that (AD) chair.”

Which is not to say UCF’s Danny White doesn’t have some advice for his South Florida counterpart, after the Bulls scheduled a two-for-one series with Miama.

“(USF AD) Michael Kelly and I talk about a lot of different things … I’m sure that gate is meaningful for them for that single-game sale for those games. It’s a precedent I don’t like being set in our conference for schools to start doing a lot higher volume of 2-for-1s. We haven’t as a conference been that kind of place. We’ve been successful, historically, of getting home-and-homes with Power 6 opponents, and I’d like to see our conference peers continue to do that as we intend to do.”

White is so full of shit with that, mainly because he feels like it undercuts his attempt to push Florida into scheduling a straight home-and-home deal with UCF.  The idea that his conference has been successful at cutting those kind of deals with P5 schools is as in touch with reality as his insistence that UCF won a national championship.

  1. Or his insistence that there’s a Power 6.

The American plays some good football, but to insist continually that they are on par with the Power 5 is laughable.

You beat me to it. This is the first time I’ve seen a P6. I’m curious how far off CUSA is from the old Big East, tho…

and they cherry pick their wins and ignore their losses when making any argument

His delusion about reality versus what he wants makes him a candidate for SC’s AD position when it comes open. There is no Power 6, get about establishing a much-needed playoff for thr Group of 5 schools, then you actually be able to make a legit case for a championship at your level. No one will take you seriously assigning these to yourself with no credible reason (and no, the WWL isn’t serious; Mickey is laughing at you as they give you mouth service to stir a pot that helps their bottom line and viewership needs.)

You had Florida willing to do a 2 for 1…. while they suck! They shouldn’t have even offered you that. Why in the world wouldn’t you jump all over that, go beat their asses in their own stadium twice, and let your fans experience the biggest home game of their lives?

I was only in Iceland for a week, you’re telling me the P5 grew to P6 that fast?

I get his point. AAC won’t get h/h if programs regularly schedule 2/1. He’s just asking for solidarity. Not a big deal IMO and what he should do. I looked and UCF is scheduling home and homes with P5 teams – just not the ones he wants.

Except about that P6 nonsense. He’s wrong about that.
