It’s not just that South Carolina’s 2019 schedule is formidable. The ‘Cocks play ten teams from the SEC and ACC combined. Only one of those ten teams looks to be running out a quarterback this season with no previous collegiate starting experience.

This season, it’s their tough schedule, next season it will be the fact they are starting a new qb. The chickens have an excuse every season for their mediocre results on the field.

I love Jake Fromm’s stats against USCe — 31 of 40! 77.5% completion rate. Some guys wouldn’t have that against air.

Almost up there with Greyson Lambert’s. In all seriousness, when was the last time we had a QB who didn’t light up the Cocks? Aaron Murray in 2012?

I’ll never forget immediately after Grayson’s performance against SCU, and Dawg fans were going nuts thinking they suddenly had a top QB on their hands and possible future Heisman winner. I got a text from a friend the next day who was part of the staff of that team basically saying not to get all excited, as Grayson would quickly fall back to earth soon as he was a mediocre QB. He also said Shotty too was in over his head and would be exposed soon enough.

How does Schitty stay in coaching ? Seriously ? He’s like the dumber, less effective, less fun version of Lake Kiffin.

Their schedule almost makes me feel sorry for them. Having to play the #1, 2 and #3 ranked preseason teams, along with a typical SEC slate that includes a vastly improving TAMU squad, just isn’t right.
SCU very well might end up playing 5 teams this year that end up ranked in the top 10 at season’s end. Absurd.

Which is why all the focus on one conference’s OOC schedule should be looked at differently than some others. Let’s face it, the current ACC and PAC12 should be judged more on their OOC games than the SEC, or even the Big14, and Big 12. More to the point, the entire schedule should be looked at, not just the OOC games. Talk to me about the totality of a schools schedule, not 2 or 3 games that happen to be OOC.
I am all for more conference games, and better OOC games for the SEC, but I cannot remember one year since the conference was split that an SEC champion had to back up to receive their trophy….each was worthy, every single one. Which other conference can claim that? There is a reason the SEC champ has been represented in so many BCS and playoffs held since they began.
The rotation certainly causes variances in who has the tougher road, but their is never an SEC team that can avoid multiple challenges before they get that championship ring. SC has a tough schedule, but so do several others in this conference. A&M might be just as difficult, they also face the same three top national teams this year.

The SEC is 96-72 vs the ACC since 2000. We’ve played astronomically more games vs ACC teams than anyone else in the SEC. Of course, I’m sure this doesn’t count South Carolina’s time in the ACC (but I wonder if it counts games vs Tech as an SEC opponent). Cool rabbit hole website.

Nevermind, it clearly lists those teams (tech/USCjr) in the records of both conferences so it clearly has segregated that.

Even those 72 losses need a footnote by them unless I’m wrong about the following.
Haven’t a lot of the bowl games pitted a higher finishing (in the ACC) team against a lower SEC finishing team in a lot of games?
Has not the selection criteria been something like this…
Bowl X ACC # 3 vs SEC# 5
Bowl Z ACC# 4 vs SEC # 6
That would explain some of the 72 losses

You know the best way to avoid playing the #1, #2 and #3 teams in the country in the same season? Be one of them. Kick rocks, ‘Cocks. 😏
