I’m really fascinated by this statistical deep dive ($$) into which college quarterbacks are likely to step up into the elite territory manned by Murray and Tagovailoa last season that somehow manages to neglect mentioning Jake Fromm, other than to note his place in this chart:
That’s it. 29 other quarterbacks are mentioned — including Justin Fields — but no Fromm. Kinda weird.
I’m confused. UF’s Franks is mentioned in the article but not on this list? I was told by knowledgeable UF fans that he is elite.
(yeah, I know, “knowledgeable UF fans”……)

Connor Riley in his current article mentioned Fromm not being able to beat Alabama just shows how lame he is as a writer. Fromm didnt lose to Alabama, lousy coaching lost both games, period!!! As much as I hate it I have to admit that Clemsons staff outcoached Ala. In their two wins. If Ga. doesn’t win it all this year the staff at Georgia is going to have to be questioned as to whether they are capable of winning the national.

Same here. I can’t understand what they actually pay him for. Other than to re-post ESPN articles.

Yeah, I saw that. Only thing I can figure is they were looking for the surprises, and Jake certainly can’t be a surprise. Other than that, it was just made up and flagellant.

You would take Fromm over both Tua and Lawrence? Seriously?

The psychology of sports fandom is amazing to me. There’s really no logical argument for Fromm over either of those two.

I would take Fromm over Tua for our offense. I can’t say the same for Lawrence.

So far, Fromm is another Aaron Murray. He has good numbers, talent, lots of wins, is a leader and a fan favorite. He also hasn’t won the big game. I know the team wins and loses but, rightly or wrongly, the qb gets a lot of the credit or blame for the outcome of the big games. If Georgia can win a national championship with Fromm doing nothing more than handing the ball off every play Fromm will suddenly be a “great quarterback”. If Georgia doesn’t win a championship with Fromm he will always be portrayed negatively regardless of his stats. Articles like this are pure off season click bait. The difference between #2 and #25 is 1.6 YPP, not exactly a glaring difference. Georgia is an easy target for writers because we consistently fall short with elite talent. Until we put it all together, we will continue to be the whipping boy.
Personally, I don’t agree with the qb getting so much attention regarding the outcome of games. I’d say Georgia’s losses to Bama are purely the fault of the coaches. The next time Kirby talks about moving the game from Jacksonville or some other major change, McGarity and/or the fans need to tell him “Once you stop crapping the bed against Alabama we’ll start paying a little more attention to what you want. Until then, you should focus your energy and attention on in game decisions”.

Define “big game”. Jake’s walked away the winner at the sec championship against aubie and Rose Bowl against Okie.
Talk about taking dawggrading to a new level….

Exactly, W Cobb.
“Fromm is another Aaron Murray”…well, except for that lack of ‘throwing pick-6’s’ part, undefeated at home and in the East, and an SEC Championship ring, but other than that, yeah exactly like him.

I guess I should have said “biggest” games. I’m not knocking Fromm, I think he’s the best overall qb I’ve ever seen at Georgia.

I remember the Stafford kid being pretty good……
Didn’t he go in the first round or something like that?
I’m jerking your chain, JC. Fromm’s a good one. From what I understand he’s a leader with a good head and cool under the gun. I’ll take that any day over a 5 star athlete dual threat cannon armed 4.4 40 interception machine.
Assuming the need arises, if Jake’s got somebodies to throw to he’ll get it done.

I think Fromm is a much better college qb than Stafford was. Fromm is the best I’ve seen at Georgia followed by Shockley then Murray and then Greene. I would put Buck up there but the game was so different then that it’s impossible to compare them.
Murray’s reputation was hurt by bad coaching decisions like Fromm’s has been. Fromm doesn’t have the interception propensity Murray did and that makes him a good bit better in my opinion. The first skill I look for in a qb is the ability to not hurt the team in a game. The college football world is filled with qbs with cannon arms or fast legs who don’t have the brains to know when to throw the ball away or take the sack and live to play another down.

Buck was the original “game manager”. For Me?
Matt Stafford: Best
David Greene: Favorite
Buck Belue: Herschel who?
Fran Tarkenton: I cannot think about Fran Tarkenton without thinking of Dog in Fla’s post of the picture of his dog and LMAO. If you see DIF please thank him from me for forever tainting the image of a childhood hero. In a good way, of course.
Fromm will be a top 3 I think and currently. I sincerely hope he has his best season yet and decides to stay for his senior year.

Even though Aaron Murray was a great player, don’t totally agree with the comparison. Fromm looks more like a Drew Brees to me. I’ve been saying that for a while now…..and it looks like now that Mel Kiper has started to “copy off me”… : > ).
Gotta have some luck to go along with a MNC, we haven’t had it. It also takes some talent. Where Clemson was strong last year, we were lacking IMO (WR & DL). Bama, don’t feel there is too much difference between the two teams this past season and the one before.
Nonetheless, thinks Fromm goes high in the draft. Hope he waits until his senior year though. Saw one today where he is projected as the 3rd player overall. They had the fellow from Oregon #1 overall (QB).
Good post JC

The ND game comes to mind, first start as a true freshman on the road…any UF game is big in my book..any AU game, any SEC Title game…1-1 there…any Rose Bowl….need I go on?
He left the field vs Bama in the National Title game as a True Freshman with the lead…shit man, get a grip.

Yeah…don’t agree in the least bit. Fromm has won the “big game” and beat the hated turd’s the first time out. For that matter if the big game is the NC game…because that is ALL he hasn’t done. Then I would throw in EVERY other QB nation except T. Lawrence at Clemson…because there are only 2 QB’s ahead of Jake in that regard.

Note the comment that many of Hurts’ plays and yardage came against opponents in a blow out situation. That can’t be said for UGA QBs, starter or mop up duty. We begin running the clock out in the 3rd Quarter in mismatches. Hope Bennett is allowed to run the full offense when put into games, and we need to see some film on him. Develop the backup or we might find ourselves in a bad situation. Saban prepares their backup until it gets well out of hand and the opposing coach pulls his starters in a gesture of surrender.
