TFW you’ve got to stretch a narrative

So, the AP is going with this theme for SEC Media Days.

This year, though, a group of talented and experienced quarterbacks could lead to a little more drama in the SEC — maybe. Georgia’s Jake Fromm, LSU’s Joe Burrow, Florida’s Feleipe Franks and Texas A&M’s Kellen Mond are major reasons those teams feel they have a realistic chance of knocking Alabama off its title perch.

If I may be so bold as to suggest that one of those names is unlike the others…

  1. Anyone who puts Fromm in the same group of those other 3 hasn’t watched college football the last 2 years.

Was listening to Barrett Sallee yesterday on XM and he is pimping the “year of the QB” this year in the SEC.

He really thinks there will be 9ish QBs who have exceedingly good play. I don’t buy it…

  3. I’m not sure if you’re putting Fromm above the others, or Franks below the others, but I think both are true.

They are right about improved QB play, and the RBs are all stout as usual. This should be an interesting SEC year as the offenses may have caught up with the level of defensive play. Some really quality match ups almost every single weekend.

I think the key to someone taking Bama down in the West will be Tua’s health, and how effective the new LSU offense turns out to be. Sounds crazy after the past several years but the biggest question mark is who will survive in the West to make it to Atlanta. The media is all focused on a UGA/FU battle in the East, I don’t see them even being 2nd, but they are missing the mark by assuming Bama will waltz through their SEC schedule. Not saying they won’t win it, but I don’t think their chances to won their division are as good as ours, maybe 60/40ish?
