  1. Just Chuck (The Other One)

I hope he’s trending because he’s working out successfully with the receivers.

Heard Fromm now compares to Tim Tebow…..wish he would have not said that.

Anyone who still believes that Kirby’s just “negotiating a bigger payday” from Jacksonville after today, that he doesn’t mean what he says, at this point, you’re just setting yourself up for huge disappointment when it’s announced the game will go home and home either permanately or on a 4 to 1 rotation or something similar.

Kirby has more juice than McGarity. We’re going to see the ultimate proof in that when this rivalry moves home and home where it should be. Kirby doesn’t even need to win a national title to make it happen at this point, but if he does this year or next, kiss Jax goodbye.

SO….we should just go ahead & believe, just as you do to make it easier on ourselves ???

I’ve always found dealing with reality to be better than living in denial. YMMV, obviously.

“Reality”???….obviously in your head it is, but carry on.

Good news for you is, they have medications, support groups & rehab for your condition these days.

When the game goes home and home, leaving Jax, you can handle your new reality like many others deep in the denial do: Grab the brown liquor and drown your new sorrows.

Herschel wants to leave it there, that is good enough for me.

Herschel is coaching the team, trying to win a National Title that’s not been won since Herschel was 19.

Kirby Smart’s is the only opinion that should matter.

IS NOT coaching the team. Damn.

                    Yes it is.

Do you think anyone else’s opinion at Bama means more than Kirby’s? Or that Saban’s word is the final word?

What you’re describing Chuck, is The Georgia Way, and why we’ve spent almost 40 years wandering in the desert.

How about we give Kirby every single thing he says he needs to win a national title and see what happens?

You scared he might actually be able to do it? I can’t think of any reason not to do it.

                    • Again. You are factually wrong. It’s almost as if there isn’t an entire other organization involved.

There’s 100 pieces involved, and kirby is the coach. He doesn’t write nor sign contracts.

But you just keep slinging your turds around. And your closing question is just childish. You’ve lost your audience and keep banging away. At least now I get the “yawn” response.

If you think anyone at Bama is telling Saban what to do or that his word isn’t Gospel, you’re deeper in denial than anyone else who thinks Kirby is
                      “just negotiating a bigger payday.”

No one tells Saban what’s what when it comes to football at Bama. When he asks for facilities upgrades, it isn’t a suggestion. It’s not even an ask. It’s an expectation.

Nice ad hominem, though. That’s how I know you lost.

Dude…Smart has already said what he wants is what is best for Georgia. Whether it is a home & home, or just to leave it in Jacksonville. That it does not matter….he wants what is best.

There is more involved than just the 1 week of recruiting he loses if it stays in Jacksonville, he realizes that. Obviously there are 2 different sides to this. Pretty sure you are not going to change anybody’s mind on here.

SO….relax, roll with it & quit taking it so personal. You are coming off like some kind of drunken buffoon.

    • Yeah… I’d put money on it staying in the Gator Bowl. Personally, I don’t think it’s a tradition that’s aged well. The environment is okay, the stadium is meh, Jacksonville is…. Jacksonville. Not a good tradition, but it’s a tradition loved by the inebriated and affluent alike. Unless Goodell and Khan take the Jags to London I don’t think there’s enough juice to move it.

I think if Kirby wants it moved it gets moved. I dont really care where they play the game I just love the hoopla surrounding the game. Time at the beach etc. It is the best excuse to see old friends and have a good time. If it moves home and home then I would be fine with having another really important game at home every other year. Jacksonville is going to need to come up with stupid money to keep it IMO

LOL. I’d give good odds that you’ll probably find more alums in favor of moving the game home and home than non-alums. We already know anecdotally that there’s about a 50-50 split. With alums living in state far more likely to live above the Fall Line, I like those odds.

But I like how you make it a condition for having earned a degree as to being in favor of staying in Jax. As far as strawman arguments go Rugby, that’s a new one.

FWIW, my diploma still in its red and black tube says UGA (I’m waiting until I buy a house to hang it), as does the signet ring on my right hand ring finger. I also still have plenty of student loan debt to prove it my attendance and graduation from UGA, because my version of GI Bill was the crappy Vietnam-Era one; I never got the upgraded Bush and Obama GI Bills, even though my career in the Corps lasted until 2004.

  4. We’re always looking for the aggregate of marginal gains.” — Kirby Smart, The Athletic, 7/16/19 ….Holy Crap….. when did Head Coaches become Stat geeks/econ majors? I tried to envision Ray Goff saying that and for the life of me I just couldn’t do it. I understand this is what you get when you pay a finance major 3-4 million a year but damn if I don’t find myself yearning for quotes about X’s and O’s and Jimmies and Joes. You know something I can understand. When the sum bitch starts talkin about regression analysis , standard deviations and confidence intervals I’m just gonna start watching Battle Bots and competitive chess. Again something I might be able to understand.
