That is truly one of the dumbest takes I’ve ever seen. My college football IQ went down 30 points just for looking at that.
Kirby’s job is as safe as it gets. That’s why I really don’t understand why in the world he wants to put all of that at risk by getting the Jacksonville game moved.
That would be an interesting topic, but that’s not how it’s framed in the linked “article”.
In answer to your question, I don’t think any number of losses would get him canned this year, unless it was accompanied by a total breakdown in team discipline. Like brawls on the field/sideline or in the locker room, stuff like that. Or if there was some major off-the-field scandal, that would probably get him fired as well.
But as far as on-the-field performance goes, he could finish dead last in the SEC East while losing to all 3 of our traditional rivals (UF, Auburn, GT) in blowouts and I think he’d still get at least one year to prove that it was a fluke and not the new normal.
Kirby would have to go 0 for the SEC, plus get video taped handing bricks of cocaine and suitcases full of 100s to multiple recruits, to get fired this season. Expectations are high, but to say his seat is hot anywhere near Gus or Harbaugh level hot is crazy talk.
Well he got us. The only reason Kirby could be on the list as number one is to get one of the most active fan bases to click on a worthless article that has no content of value. Although I want to feel suckered, I really blame myself for clicking and making this guys strategy successful.
There wasn’t enough info in the body of the post to prevent the click, so I wasted my time as well. In the future, just putting Mike Esposito in the text will be enough warning for me. But you are right, there are enough under 25 year old fans with a “MNC or bust” attitude to give us the reputation of a fan base with a large delusional following, susceptible to this silliness.
Taggert was the only truly guy shown that has a very hot seat going in. I was surprised at how badly FSU played last season, would like to see him succeed this season. The Noles stomping of FU as well could provide more great off season entertainment. Imagine 2019 with Miami, UGA, and FSU all beating the GayTurds, then Purdue crushing them in a minor, cold weather bowl. Good times for sure.
Anyone that claims Smart is a mirror image of CMR just because they have essentially the same record/results after 3 seasons hasn’t been paying attention.
Sadly, paying attention has little to do with writing click bait. In fact, that’s the point I think. Write something that is so far out that fans get in a rage because the author obviously doesn’t pay attention (do their jobs)
I don’t see CKS getting fired at season end however if he falls way short this coming season then the stupid story this clown wrote might be true come the following year
Before you CKS Kool-Aid drinkers get mad at me tell me how you think the talk will be by season end if with this loaded roster UGA were to lose 3 games this season
Honestly till he wins a NC in my opinion he is just like CMR just a good coach who don’t seem to be able to get over the hump. CKS seems to be a 100% better recruiter than CMR but CMR came just as close with lesser players that makes him the better game day coach and CMR had 3 wins vs Saban CKS has zero so far …… All that said CMR is over and CKS is just starting with time to continue to improve
You realize you’re talking about UGA where Mark Richt coached for 15 years and Ray Goff coached for 7? Kirby would have to lose to Tech three years in a row and/or win 6 games a year for at least two years before he’s on the hotseat. Neither of those things are coming to pass this year or next.
Taggart is fine. There is an article I think on the athletic that details what a train wreck fisher left the program in. According to the article it was acceptable for players to not attend classes, and that the Jameis stuff was the rule as opposed to an anomaly. He basically has the administrations full support as he has had to implement discipline and process controls, which led a player mutiny by Jimbos guys. The pains of year one are done, but there still remains a great deal of work which everyone at the university acknowledges. Makes our 2015 issues seem like a picnic.
It will be interesting to see if how jimbos tenure plays out at tamu knowing this.
I read that piece and it struck me as being a soft-glow approach to Taggart. They had some pretty mind-numbing in-game coach decisions particularly for a HC with 8 years experience. Still, Taggart has always started poorly at trainwrecks and always got them competitive. Myself, I find it hard to see how he’s going to be successful in ’19 with that OL and his recruiting left something to be desired for sure — particularly at QB.
I agree he’s safe for ’19 and maybe even ’20 – but that’s if they make progress.
Two guys that have had their programs in position to make the CFP going into the final week of the last two seasons are sitting on a hotter seat than the perpetual hot seat at Auburn and the guy that just led FSU to it’s worst season in 40 years?
Given the NCAA sanctions handed down and how well he turned it around midpoint in the 2017 season, Odom has zero chance of being fired short of being video-taped soliciting hookers for recruits.
Wow, he thinks we’re Auburn fans.

Truthfully, I think one brick of cocaine might do it. But I don’t think he can lose his job on the field.
