If I had a dollar for every time I heard Fleetwood Mac’s “The Chain” in college, I’d have been well off at an early age.
Here’s The Highwaywomen’s Highwomen’s “Steve Nicks approved” version of the tune:

“We have a long way to go to get to where we need to go,” Smart said. “That’s nothing to do with Oregon. That’s nothing to do with anybody we play. That’s to do with the Georgia Bulldogs...”-- Kirby Smart, AJ-C, 8/14/22
Senator, I think the name of this group is The Highwomen. There is another group called The Highwaywomen. I’m an Amanda Shires fan, and there has been some confusion on this topic lately.
Also, who is Steve Nicks? 🙂

Steve Ray Vaughn’s cousin. Together they played shred ukulele on tour in the Caribbean for many years. Kind of a niche following. Retired when their conch player tragically O’ded on pina coladas one night.

Never really cared much either way for Fleetwood Mac in their late 70’s hay day, but I saw them in concert once and this song was amazing live (or at least it was the best song of the show). It really transformed live.
BTW, is it “The Highwaywomen” or “The Highwomen”?

MO better live for sure. Same can be said for Eric Clapton….went to a concert of his in the late 70’s early 80’s, Richmond VA. It was amazing….

I looked at this this morning without wearing my glasses (Welcome to 50 y’all!) and I swear I thought it said the “Highwaymen”, All I could make out was the long hair so I assumed it to be true, and couldn’t for the life of me imagine how Kris, Willy, JC, and Waylon would sound doing Fleetwood Mac. Needless to say I was kind of disappointed when I played it.
