Westgate regular season win totals

Per Phil Steele, you can find them all here.

And this is how the SEC looks, less than a week before the season starts:

  • Alabama:  11.5
  • Georgia:  11
  • Florida:  9
  • LSU:  9
  • Missouri:  8.5
  • Auburn:  8
  • Mississippi State:  7.5
  • Texas A&M:  7.5
  • Kentucky:  6.5
  • Tennessee:  6.5
  • Arkansas:  5.5
  • South Carolina:  5.5
  • Ole Miss:  5
  • Vanderbilt:  4.5

Potentially, that’s a major looking ouch looming for Boom.

I’d probably take the over for LSU and Mizzou and maybe Mississippi State.  Ole Miss looks like an under to me.  Auburn’s the mystery here — if Gus finds his rabbit’s foot in time and gets lucky with his quarterback choice, the Tigers are good enough on defense to wind up with ten wins, but if not, eight’s gonna take some hard work.

  1. UGA and LSU feel like candidates to push the number. Florida, too. I’d take Mizzou to go over, Bama to go over (as crazy as that seems), Arkansas under, SoCar over (I like them for a bowl game). I think I lean Miss St and Kentucky on the under.

Ditto on Florida. I am increasingly mystified as to why people are so up on UF this year….

I agree with the sentiments here. If they stay completely healthy at OL and DB they should be a good team but not a 9 or 10 win team. I think they are easily an 8 win team. LSU, Auburn and UGA are losses and of course Missouri seems to have their number not to mention going to South Carolina who has a solid team they just have a murder schedule. I think they beat Miami pretty easily next week but they are playing with 75 scholarships max at this point and maybe 74 if a freshman doesnt get a visa. It is hard to sustain a grueling season when your scholarships resemble a team on probabtion. They say Mullen is a great play caller, OK but I am not sure he is a very good roster manger or recruiter. We are about to go on a long haul of whipping their ass consistently.

Did Nix or Gatewood transfer in from another school? If not, I don’t like Gus’ chances to have good qb play.

I’d take the under for FU.

Those look pretty dialed in to me. Certain to be many winners as we look back on them but I wouldn’t play any of those SEC numbers (over on SC looks like the best bet but that could go up in flames against UNC next week). Some years you see a couple that just cannot miss because of where the 1/2 point falls, this year I would resist everything on this buffet. Save your ammo for better plays.

Was in Biloxi this weekend. Locked in Bama over 11, UGA over 10.5, Tennessee over 7, Ohio St over 10, Oregon over 9 and FSU over 7.5. Probably looking at a few pushes. Bama hasn’t won less than 11 since 2010. I think UGA wins 11 again. Tennessee probably hits 7. Wish I had gotten them at 6.5.

Agree about TN…I don’t see them as much improved, but Vandy and KY will be easier pickin’s for them this year. I don’t think FSU will deliver.

There are multiple games I could see us losing if the ball doesn’t bounce our way. ND, UF, AU and aTm. I think UT is going to be an absolute battle as well. I’m most concerned about UF and AU, especially AU given Kirby’s track record on the road against West opponents.

Mizzou’s placement order should swap with FU’s. Mizzou is the scrambler in this year’s East.

agreed and they have the easiest schedule in conference. They should be 8-0 when they get to us. They pull Ark and Ole miss from the west.

It’s a shame Muschamp has so tarnished his reputation as a Dawg. It would have been nice having him back had he wanted to come home one day.

If he is available and we need a DC you can damn well bet that Kirby hires him. That is a no brainer. He is a dick and he was pandering to the folks that cut the big checks to him but the man can coach defense.

Ok. you think Kirby is going to pass on hiring Muschamp because he hurt some people’s feeling when he was the head coach at South Carolina? Kirby and Boom are VERY good friends and if the situation is right you bet your ass Kirby will try to hire him. Why do you think he wouldnt?

You have not stated one reason why Kirby wouldn’t hire him considering the fact that he tried to hire him before USCjr hired him as HC. But you do you dude.

Kirby is not going to hire a has been head coach as defensive coordinator that has failed in ever category to come the Georgia.

                  He also hates Georgia.

Oh I need to save it again we’re not gonna hire a failed head coach to come to Georgia to be defensive coach. Friends aside.

Next. We’re not gonna hire a piece of shit loud mouth coach to come to Georgia to be defensive coach when we already have the best d coach

                  Deffensive coach in america.

                  Next.

Muschamp is a loud mouth piece of shit. And we already have are allowed mouthpiece of shit. And only one can be in the Room so hes certainly not gonna come.

    Missouri: 8.5
Missouri could be a big problem for UGA. They have a bunch of good
    players returning..
    Muschamp:
Will got Kirby his first job with a Coach (Saban) that would lead to his
position today. I don’t know if that would cause Kirby to hire him over a
better coach, but it will be a problem if Will gets fired and we need a DC.
